2. ‘Seven’ Trailer
• The seven movie trailer has many semantics of a
common thriller movie, for example as you can see that
the setting of the movie is very dark and dull. This
movies key concept of keeping the audience interested is
the two main character, which are Brad Pitt and Morgan
Freeman, which are known as ‘big name stars’. The
trailer engages the audience by introducing the two
main characters, from this shot we know that they are
the antagonist as they are dressed in smart clothing and
the flash light gives connotation of a detective. Below I
have shown an screenshot of this shot:

3. Film Poster
• As you can see from the poster that the main
way that the audience is engaged in the film is
the names of the two main characters as they
are very well known. the colours used tell the
audience what genre the movie is as many
thriller movies use the same blend of colours,
for example very dark dull colours. In this case
the colours do not only say that the movie is a
thriller, but also the words in the centre as
these words have connotations that they will
have to solve a mystery ETC. This film poster
does not give any hint to what the film is about
as there is no background, with images of the
setting ETC. This poster have many conventions
of a thriller film poster, as it includes the title,
the names of the actor and the images of the
main actors.
