1. Narrative Analysis
Jaws
Martin Brody is the new police officer on Amity Island, somewhere in New England. He
has a wife named ellen and two boys called Michael and Sean. On a summer morning
Brody is called down to the beach where a body has been washed up on the beach, the
body gets identified as Chrissie Watkins who is on holiday. A body examiner tells Brody
that it could have been a shark that killed the young girl. Mayor Larry Vaughn is desperate
not to lose out on money from the tourists. So Larry persuades Brody to say that Chrissie
Watkins death was caused by a boat, instead of a shark.
Shark expert Matt Hooper believes that Chrissie Watkins was killed by a shark and is
proven right in the next few days, when Alex Kinter is killed by the same shark that killed
Chrissie. A few days later a Tiger shark is killed and brought into shore by a couple of
boaters. Vaughn announces that the shark has been killed. However Hooper says that the
shark that has been killing people is a Great White Shark and is still in the Amity waters,
but Vaughn ignores him and opens the beaches because all he cares is about the money
from the tourists.
The tourists then all come to Amity and Vaughn encourages them to go into the sea and
go swimming, and then Hooper is proven right when a man is killed by a shark biting his
leg off. Finally Vaughn comes to his senses and hires Quint to find the shark because his
own kids were at the beach too at the time of the attack. So Quint, Brody and Hooper are
sent out to sea in Quint’s boat ready to kill the shark.
Zombieland
Zombieland is a brilliant horror although some parts may be unrealistic this film has you
hooked from start to finish. The four main actors are Emma Stone as Wichita, Jesse
Eisenberg playing Columbus, Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee and Abigail Breslin stars as
Little Rock.
Its based on 4 people in America and they’re the last people alive because of ‘mad cow
disease’ which has killed everyone and wiped out the population and then they all
became zombies. We first see a man called Columbus and he is alone in his house. He’s
managed to work out a strategy on how to kill any zombies that come into contact with
him. Columbus has a list of rules that he explains throughout the film on how to stay alive.
Then we see Columbus allowing a girl into his house to protect her, she turns out to be a
zombie and he kills her and leaves his home to travel to a safer area of America.
Then Columbus meets Tallahassee and they are both unaware if one another are zombies
or not. They manage to coordinate and both now know that they’re humans and okay.
Tallahassee is fine for Columbus to travel with him and isn’t very sociable towards
Columbus. Tallahassee also has his certain ways of killing zombies and can be quite
violent. They begin their journey together to find a safer area in America where the
disease hasn’t reached yet. On their way they pull over at a supermarket where they meet
two new people who aren’t zombies too.

2. Witchita and her younger sister Little Rock. They trick Columbus and Tallahassee into
thinking that Little Rock has been bitten and is going to die. So they convince Columbus
and Tallahassee to pass over their weapons so Witchita can put her sister out of her
misery. After they’ve passed over their weapons Witchita and Little Rock make a run for it
and take the boys car. Columbus and Tallahassee, now unarmed only have one choice to
run after the girls and retrieve whats theirs. The girls who think they don’t need the boys
are then proved wrong when they find themselves in many difficult positions where the
only way to escape is from the boys help.
The 4 of them travel around together and kill any zombie that gets in their way and they
manage to get to the destination they set out to get too.
