2. The Audience I am targeting
I am thinking of targeting a general audience. An
audience that isn't heavily involved with a certain
genre. These will be the type of people that like the
top 40 and general music that everyone likes.
The audience will be of both genders as this is a
more generalised magazine
The age will be later secondary school ages and sixth
formers and college students. So the ages of 14-18.
3. What is my magazine about ?
The magazine will generally contain reviews some
interviews and lots of news about the top singles and
also upcoming singles or newly released.
The split of magazine will be 40% reviews 20%
interviews and 40% news on singles and albums.
My magazine will entail weekly updates on which
singles are record breaking or even surprising a few
people the music singles will be given awards each
week like “Biggest flop of the week ,Biggest rise of
the week and also newest entries.”
4. The music style
The music style will be mainly pop genre but
because it’s a charts magazine it could have any kind
of genre of music due to the fact the charts do have
many different genres.
5. Marketability
The way in which I have targeted my audience is
through niche market as there is no weekly chart
magazines out on the market already.

I haven't yet set in stone a brand name for the
magazine I was thinking of SS 40 or something
similar.
The brand name needs to be short and snappy so the
attention of the reader is fully on the magazine.
The longer the brand name is the less memorable it
becomes.

7. Codes and Conventions
Colour scheme:
3-4 colours for the colour scheme.
The colours must suit my target age group so black
and red maybe the best option for my colour scheme
Fonts:
The fonts must suit my genre and target audience to
attract them to the magazine.
The fonts must be big enough to catch the eye but
not to big that it ruins the front photo.
8. Feasibility
The idea is very feasible as the magazine is a very
current idea not done weekly its normally done on
odd occasions like annually. This is normally done
by different magazines.
9. Creativity
The magazine idea is being put into a niche market
as no magazines have done a charts magazine every
week so this idea is a new area of the market that
hasn’t been exploited yet.
