3. The definition of robot
• An electro-mechanical machine which can resemble
human action and movement ranging from
speaking , jumping to service people and playing the
music.
• A robot is a "machine that looks like a human being
and performs various complex acts or a "device that
automatically performs complicated often repetitive
tasks", or a "mechanism guided by automatic
controls". In practical terms, "robot" usually refers to a
machine which can be electronically programmed to
carry out a variety of physical tasks or actions.

6. Types of robot
Modular robot
Collaborative robots
• a new breed of robots that
are designed to increase the
utilization of the robots by
modularizing the robots.
• The functionality and
effectiveness are easier to
increase compared to
conventional robots
• a robot that can safely and
effectively interact with
human works
• most are manufactured by
Universal Robots in
Denmark
• However, these robots can
easily create hazard

Modern robots
• As robots have become more
advanced , experts and academics
have increasingly explored the
questions of what ethics might
govern robots' behavior and
whether robots might be able to
claim any kind of
social, cultural, ethical or legal
rights. One scientific team has
said that it is possible that a robot
brain will exist by 2019. Others
predict robot intelligence
breakthroughs by 2050.
7. Kinds of appearance
Materials used :
1)Plastics :
expanded PVC , EPVC Acrylic Expanded
Polyethylene
2)metals:
there are a wide variety of metals available
today, Aluminum is available in various
grades and alloys
therefore robots can be painted on many
colour.

11. Robots that work in industries
Industrial robots usually
consist of a jointed arm
(multi-linked manipulator)
and an end effector that is
attached to a fixed surface.

The International Organization for Standardization
gives a definition "an automatically
controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose, manipulat
or programmable in three or more axes, which may be
either fixed in place or mobile for use in industrial
automation applications.”

37. ADVANTAGE of robots
From the result of the survey, message from the video and research, we can know
the following advantages that the robots bring.
Economy
• Reduce cost in companies(in long
term)
• robots are tireless, robots work
without taking
breaks, lunches, sick time
• Robots protect workers from
work that could be hazardous to
workers' mental or physical
health.
• Robots produce consistent, highquality goods faster and cheaper.
11/19/2013
Industries
• create high-quality
products, increase
production, and perfect
applications.
• increase work efficiency
• decrease workload
• Reduce Scrap and Manufacturing
Costs
• Automatic Changeover for
Different Products
• reduce the number of human
injuries.
Society
• Make life more convenience
• Increase human resourses
Medicine
• robots can perform surgery
quicker and more accurate
• allowing for the patient to feel
less pain
38. DISADVANTAGE of robots
From the result of the survey, message from the video and research, we can
know the following disadvantages that the robots bring.
Economy
Industries
Society
• )They break down and
may not work for
days, weeks, months.
Robots come out
dated and then
become scrap metal
and there are
problems with
disposal of the parts
, this increase the
operation cost of the
companies
• Need to spend a lot of
time to invent a new
robot
• expensive
• take up a lot of space
and require a staff of
engineers to maintain
and operate
• they cannot do
something they are
not designed to do
• increase the
unemployment rate
• produce lots of
electronic waste
• make people lazy
• Conflicts in the
society: People who
want robots VS People
who do not want
robots

40. Conclusion
After doing this project, we can know that…
There are three kinds of robots: modular, Collaborative and modern robots
Robots are made by plastic and metal
Many people not knowing too much about robots.
Robots can bring many benefits: 1. increase the productivity in industries. 2. make life more
convenience 3. Time-saving 4. Decrease workload
But it can also bring harms: 1. high operation cost 2. make people lazy and dependence 3. increase the
unemployment rate 4.Produce lots of electronic waste.
Although robots brings disadvantage to us , if we can use them wisely, they can still bring benefits to
us and good for our society.
