What’s New? An overview …
1   Cover image: A cover image is a banner across the top of your Page, right above your Page profile picture


    Highlighted posts: You can now highlight any post on your Page by clicking the star icon next to each update, this will expand the
2   post across the entire width of your wall


3   Pinned posts: Pinned posts are updates that will stay at the top of the page for a maximum of 7 days


4   Milestones: Create milestones in your brand history, highlighting achievements and key dates


    Views and Apps: Apps, photos and events are now displayed under the cover photo. Page admins can control what is featured

6   Friend Activity: When users visit your page, they’ll see if any of their friends are talking about your brand, within the page


7   Admin panel: Page admins can view notifications and comments, respond, view insights and edit


8   Activity log: Only viewable to Page admins, activity log will provide an overview of activity and page history

What’s Gone?

•   Brands will no longer be able to ‘fan-gate’ pages or apps


•   Tabs have been removed, and apps/info etc now sit under the cover image


•   Brands will no longer be able to set custom landing tabs - users will now automatically land on
    brand timeline
What does this mean for your brand?
These extensive changes will mean a change in your social strategy.
Important stories can now be featured with the click of a button, and Facebook’s new
Premium ads mean your content can be placed at the very top of a user’s news feed –
but this needs to be approached with caution.
Consumers don’t always react well to change across social platforms, and forcing your
content in front of them isn’t necessarily going to result in a positive reaction.
Existing content will need to be edited and new content created before you publish your
new timeline, and easily accessible historical data means you’ll need to think about
posts from years gone by too.
Our recommendation? Create a carefully thought out strategy before you click that
publish button!
