2. Notice
This presentation contains all materials needed to conduct an
introduction workshop on how to reproduce and repair a part
with 3D printing,
It is based on an example to introduce participants with the
approach, the modeling software, and the printing process,
Feel free to use this content. For any question or feedback,

4. Sequence steps in a progressive way during 1h30’
30 min’ – Introduction, getting started with modeling
5 min’ – Explain the objective to reproduce an object using 3D printing, show the printed
example and the process to get there,
5 min’ – Make a quick demo with 3D Slash to show the basics in action,
20 min’ - Participants either :
Participants follow the 6 steps online tutorials (see “resources” slide),
Or model a face, a sculpture, a house, or anything they want to get started,
30 min’ – Modeling the window latch
Accompany participants step by step in the design of the object (watch video next slide),
30 min’ – Printing the model
Save the object, go online and click on the 3D model,
Then either download the .STL and show how to slice it and print it,
Or make a simulation to print at 3DHubs, Sculpteo and iMaterialise.

6. To go further
Show other examples of repaired or reproduced objects. Your owns or on
our gallery : https://www.3dslash.net/gallery.php
Explain what can be done easily or not:
EASY : mechanical parts with 3 axes, holes, …
HARD: organic parts, complex geometries such as screw propeller, …
EXPENSIVE : all large parts, metal, stereolithography techniques, …
Explore 3D scanning, and import a scan in 3D Slash.
6
-> Organize a second workshop in which people will
bring their own broken parts and 3D model them
