2. What is Source Citation?
 Whenever you quote, paraphrase, summarize, or
refer to the work of another, you are required to cite
its source.
 This means that you have to state
where the information comes from.
 For example, this definition comes from the Duke
University Libraries website.

3. Why is there a need to cite sources?
 The source of information is stated to give credit to
the author(s) or creator(s).
 It acknowledges their effort in
producing that piece of work.
 Not citing or acknowledging the source is an act of
plagiarism.
 To plagiarise means to take someone’s work or ideas
and pass them off as your own.

 In IPW, you will be required to conduct
research on your project.
 When you use the information found, you
should give credit to the author(s).
