Savanc’s Equipment Guide
                                                                                                                                                           Version 4.3

Dear PoLC member,
This is an extensive guide to successfully 1-hit your way from level 1 to level 1200. I have most of this guide from level 70 to where I am now. It did work for me
and hopefully for you as well. ^_^

The guide is divided into several parts:
       levels 1-185, which are relatively easy 1-hit areas (with special guides on the Lenzwer Forest (level 110-115) and level 140-149);
       levels 186-239, during which I suggest you start to use Death Dealer with Summon Shield Imp;
       levels 240-349, during which I suggest you start to use a new buff called Smashing Hammer and the lay-out changes a bit;
       levels 350-399, during which crystalline items will be used;
       levels 400-420, which are levels in Xinderoth and are different for reasons you will understand when you get there;
       levels 421-950, which are quite straightforward levels;
       levels 951-970, which are levels in Karthak which is somewhat like Xinderoth except leveling is a bit easier and the quests are a lot harder;
levels 971-1200, which are again quite normal hunting levels.

Some basic information:
   Standard buffs
   - I suggest you always hunt with Adept Learner, Librarian, Animal Magnetism, Conserve, Merchant, Treasure Hunter and Doubler (except when mentioned).
   - From level 186 onwards I suggest using Fury (around level 150) and Berserk (around level 150, but a good alternative is the cheap level 200 potion –
       Dragon Blood Potion).
   - From level 240 onwards I suggest using Enchant Weapon (around level 150) unless the weapon was the Destroyer one (because then EW gives only very
small bonuses)., and Enchanted Armor from level 280 onwards.
   - The buffs mentioned above will NOT be mentioned every time in the guide, because it would be too elaborate.

   Damage buffs and updates
   - From level 240 onwards I occasionally suggest using Berserk300 (Berserkers Potion).
   - From level 334 onwards I suggest using Coordinated Attack (only works if you are wearing only set items).
   - I suggest using EW1000 (Potion of Truth) on and off (mostly off) from level 470 onwards.
   - I suggest the use of Cursed Rune from level 500 to 574 when you do not wear crystalline (“Cursed” buffs break crystalline; even with UB200).
   - From level 686 onwards I suggest using Berserk350 (Potion of Fury).
   - Coordinated Defense is advised 10 times between level 715 and 995. It will give you the extra defense you need to be safe from a creatures’s attacks.
   - From level 1101 onwards I suggest using EW1500 (Potion of Greater Enchant Weapon) and Fury 350 (Potion of Incandescent Fury).
   - From level 1101 onwards I suggest using Enchant Shield 175, Iron Fist 175, Enchant Helmet 75 and Epic Forge 175.
   How to “read” buff suggestions
   - CA levels mentioned are guildelines. This means it is not a big problem if you use CA of a few levels lower (+/- 5 levels is quite ok). For example, if the
guide says CA 5 then using no CA at all will still keep you 1-hitting nearly all the time. Using slightly different CA levels than the guide can be useful if you
want to get the extra damage from CA without using a lot of extra stamina. For details see Appendix II.
   - DC levels mentioned are absolute minima. Do not use a DC lower than the number mentioned, because even 1 level lower can make you miss the
       creature a lot. So make sure you get a buff (or potion) of at least that level;
   - Constitution and Flinch can be useful to keep your imps alive. In most levels it is impossible to get enough damage to 1-hit while also getting enough
defense to stay safe. The Constitution levels mentioned are like the DC levels: they are absolute minima. If you use lower levels then you will not be safe
       from a creatures’s attacks.
   Extra information - buffs
   - The level of Counter Attack mention in this guide includes our two currently empowered relics. They give a 10% attack, armor, damage and HP bonus
and a 5% defense bonus. If we do not have two empowered relics then you should raise the mentioned CA level by 20 points per relic. Currently we have a
10% damage (and most other stats) bonus and the guide is based on us having them.
   - All buffs mentioned in this guide are of at least level 150 unless noted otherwise (with the exception of IF, ES, CoorAt, EF (which are of level 175), EH
(which is level 75) and Keen Edge (which is at least level 165)). In case where you have too little attack I have mentioned the minimal level of Dark Curse
and if needed then I also mention the use of Keen Edge. You of course can choose to use Keen Edge when I do not mention it and lower the required
Dark Curse level. For a DC to KE+DC conversion table see Appendix I.
   - When using Summon Shield Imp (and Death Dealer) the use of Potion of Greater Doubler or Potion of Intensity (Doubler level 750 or Doubler 1200) is
highly advised as it reduces the number of attacks during a hunt and thus reduces the number of possible deaths of your Shield Imp (and avoiding having
       to purchase it multiple times).
   Extra information - various
   - When a map has multiple creatures then hunting creatures of a lower level or Champions is not advised. If a map also has creatures of higher levels then
you can hunt them, but make sure you use the buffs of the level of the corresponding creature. For example, Dark Vale (North) (level 345) has Ghouls
(level 345) which can be defeated without Counter Attack or Dark Curse, but also has the Dark Vale Vines (level 346) and they can only be defeated with
Dark Curse 106 or higher. To hunt the level 346 creature you need that buff even though the guide says level 345 does not need it.
   - Most of my level up points are in damage (everything except around 20 points). I hope you also have spent a lot of points in damage as this guide
assumes you have at least 80% of your level up points in damage.
   - Items used were mostly guild-owned, perfect/excellent crafted and fully forged. Appendix III contains a list of hunting items that appear in the guide.
   - There are many alternatives to this equipment guide, so please use what suits you and what is available.

Now onto the equipment guide. Have fun!

Level 110+: The quest of the Lenzwer Forest
First of all, what makes the 110’s different from the areas before? Simply, some creatures have much higher stats, making it (near) impossible to 1-hit them
without the use of expensive buffs. The 110’s are composed out of 3 different kinds of areas, namely the Lenzwer Forest (North), the rest of Lenzwer Forest
and all the other areas. First about all the other areas; they are just there, have ordinary creatures and nothing really interesting is there to mention. ☺
Lenzwer Forest (North)
You will have to travel through the Lenzwer Forest (North) (yes, you can go around it by using a portal to Garford Valley, but you will have to level very, very
ineffective for 2 or 3 levels straight to make that work, so do not do that!). The Lenzwer Forest (North) holds 3 different creatures. The Dwarf Woodsman and
the Wood Elf Maid are our ‘friendly’ creatures. Friendly, because they are not that hard to defeat; just make sure you have the right equipment. You will need at
least 719 attack and 847 damage combined with either 608 defense or 597 armor. I would go with armor, because the sets around level 110 mostly contain
some armor. There are several options to get this. Just to name one: Krimson Kardic Helmet, Writhing Ward, Reborn Elemental Air Javalin, Full Moon Wolf
Pelt, Lesser Santork Gloves, Rune of Decay, Dralpo Amulet, Ring of Alcast and Tirkin Kicking Boots.
Did I also mention that the Dwarf is level 112 and the Elf is 113? That means you can kill them while still getting the normal XP per kill even when you are
level 112 and 113 (the latter of course only goes for the Elf). There is also creature number 3, which is the Mushcaria Beast. Either have a very good equipment
(the Full Moon equipment with all extra items and all Full Forged and Perfect will do the trick), or just ignore him because 2-hitting takes twice as much
stamina for the same amount of XP of what 1-hitting would take. So you probably want to stick to the Elf and Dwarf (and at level 113 only the Elf).
Rest of Lenzwer Forest
Next part is the Lenzwer Forest itself. It is NOT necessary that you go there. You can hunt Dwarves and Elves until you are level 113 and then move on to
Ganford Valley and continue hunting in more normal areas. However, if you like quests then here is a beautiful one. I would say it challenges the epic quests.
☺ I really liked the quest, but it took me a bit of time to figure out how to do it right and it also takes a lot of getting killed.
So on to the main part of this guide. Lenzwer Forest (East) is realm to the Lenzwer Pale Stag. You will need a little bit of attack and a lot of damage to 1-hit
this monster. Also make sure you can take a punch so get some armor. There is a minor quest here that wants you to kill some of these creatures. Do it and
when you have reached 113 (yes 113, not 112!) then go on to the next map. The creature here (Were Vulpes) is vile and 3-hitting is an evil word at level 112 or
113, so you better just walk to the next map without attacking anything here.
Well then, now that we are at Lenzwer Forest (Depths) we can take a deep breath. Yeay! Here the quest begins! May I advise you to read all the dialogues? It
definitely increases the fun of this quest. ☺
There are some Wood Elf Maids again (easy killing to get to level 114), but also Lenzwer Dryads. You do not want to hunt them, but you will have to. They
drop Dark Seeds and you will need this item to complete the first part of the quest. So please hunt with Find Item and absolutely a high level Quest Finder.
Hunt them until they drop a Dark Seed and bring it to the right location.
The next part of this quest is Lenzwer Dark Hollows. It requires some walking around in the first part and some killing later on. Just go to the locations in the
right order (middle, bottom-left, middle, top-right and finally middle again). Then he asks you to kill 30 Lenzwer Root Monsters. Now is the time to start
wondering why on Earth we even started this madness. First of all, do not even think of making guild attack groups for this. Since you will need to kill 30 of
them it will take you alone 600 stamina (and some stamina for walking) plus a lot of stamina for other guild members as well.
Just get the buff Wither, some lifesaving buffs (Last Ditch, Stun, Shockwave), do not use Doubler (we do not want to hunt them for XP, but just want to kill
30 of them with as little stamina as possible) and make sure you have much defense or armor. It probably is easier to get the 619 defense than the 1233 armor,
so (provided that you are level 114 and not 115) try something like Reborn Elemental Air Javalin and Krimson Kardic Helmet together with some defensive
and damage items (some parts of the Leikmar set will do quite well). Just make sure you have around 619 defense and the rest should go into damage. Then
you probably will have enough attack as well (you only need 367). If you are level 115 you might want to get a Shildorah or Kala set (yes “or”, because you also
will want some damage and if you have both sets on (or the full Leikmar set for that matter) you will not have enough damage to finish him off easily).
Now that you are able to kill the monster without getting killed yourself you still need to know that you want the creature to drop something: Mark of Kif. So
get the buffs Find Item and Quest Finder again. You do not want to have to kill more than 30 of them.
Next stop is the The Great Tree Canopy, which entrance can be found in Lenzwer Forest (Depths). We are looking for Kif the Lenzwer Druid (you will want
to create a guild attack group for him). There are Wood Elf Maids, Enzwer Dryads and the lovely Grizlor Bear. Lovely, because he is the only regular creature
here that is of level 114 and thus gives you normal XP per kill (the other 2 give you a bit less XP as they are only level 113). You can attack all creatures (lots of
kills, but not always the best amount of XP) or only Bears and Elves (lots of easy kills, but not the best amount of XP) or only the Bears (less kills, but a good
amount of XP). It is your choice. The Bear is not that difficult to defeat anyway.
Once you have found and killed Kif return to the location to tell about it. When you are level 115 you may enter the Sanctum of Shildorah. Like in Lenzwer
Forest (Path), you do not want to attack the common creature here, Dryad Warrior, with little to no chance of 1-hitting. So go to the Advisor, talk to him and
travel around the map until you walk into Queen Shildorah (Elite). You will need a guild attack group as well to finish her off. Then head back to the Advisor
and claim your prize: about 100k of XP! ☺

A guide to the 140s
Welcome to the 140s! It must sound strange, but I loved the 140s. That is because a long time ago when I was there it was possible to 1-hit, but it would take
much effort to do so (I like a good challenge). Nowadays it is somewhat easier but could still be considered a bit of a challenge.
Because of the creatures’s huge HP, damage should be nearly maxed (but also remember your attack; it should be around 850 to tackle the strongest creature in
the 140s). You can do this by getting the right items and getting the right buffs. With the right equipment you can do all this and have enough defense or armor
to withstand creature’s attack. So first I will discuss the equipment and next are the buffs.
Items
For the right items use the Full Moon Wolf Pelt, Writhing Ward, Reborn Elemental Air Javalin, Krimson Kardic Helmet, Lesser Santork Gloves, Rune of
Decay, Mancrusha Amulet, Mancrusha Ring and Mancrusha Boots.
Make sure most items are Fully Forged and of a high level Craft (the guild has all of them). You can wear Jahd Ring or Boots of Almar for extra damage, but
make sure your armor is still sufficient. Also never forget to repair regularly! Do not underestimate the effect of repairing, especially in areas where you do not
have much extra damage!
Buffs
You will also need some buffs or potions (preferably level 145 or higher). The must have buffs are the Blood Fist Potion or Dragon Blood Potion (they are
Berserk 175 and 200 potions and will raise your basic damage with 35% or 40%) and Fury (raises basic damage with 14-15%). Other quite decent buffs here are
Enchanted Armor (raises your armor stats (so also damage) and Holy Flame (only against Plague Victim (level 141) as it causes extra damage to undead
creatures). If you have used your level up points mostly (about 80% or more) in damage then your damage stat should be about 2500 by now, and you are
doing ok. I have mainly used Berserk, Fury, Enchanted Armor and Holy Flame (at level 141). Most buffs were of level 140-160 as they are cheap and give a
decent increase in stats.

186 and beyond
In the levels below 186 hunting was actually just the same as playing around with creatures, but now it is time to toughen up because the creatures did so too!
Most of the creatures’s stats stay the same (attack, defense, armor and damage) but the HP doubles and this means you will need around 60% extra damage to
keep on 1-hit killing creatures. Ouch...
You could decide to start 2-hitting from now on but in the end it makes you level up much slower and gets you less gold. There are basically two things you
need to do to get that extra damage.
First of all, give up the idea of surviving on defense or armor. You will need most of your stats in damage so you will need to sacrifice the defense/armor.
Staying alive in FS is overrated anyway... ☺ If you die you will lose a small amount of XP and part of your gold (so make sure you do not have much gold by
banking it, sending it to someone, buying low amounts on valuable items on the Auction House, etc.). Secondly, you can use two different damage boosting
buffs: Counter Attack or Death Dealer.
Death Dealer gives a 20% damage bonus if you have a high enough kill streak (60+). How do we avoid losing a kill streak without defense or armor? Use
Summon Shield Imp! The combination of DD+SSI is a little bit expensive but worth it in the long run.
Counter Attack is generally cheaper but it also makes you use more stamina. How much depends on your level of Doubler. By using more stamina per kill you
will get less gold per hunt (because you can kill less creatures) and less XP per hunt. Therefore I suggest using DD+SSI over CA.

Death Dealer & Summon Shield Imp: is it too costly for me?
You may have asked yourself that question, or not. But in any way I am going to discuss the topic because I asked myself this question around this time and it
influenced my hunting after level 185 considerably.
Counter Attack – Hunting will cost more stamina and it raises attack and damage (for example, level 100 increases all three with 25% each).
Death Dealer – It raises damage with 20% if your kill streak is high enough (this means you must not die and therefore you should use Shield Imp).
Just a simple bit of math (also see table on the right):
    • Counter Attack will cost you around 50k gold to buy. Buff
                                                                                                                                                     Cost
                                                                                                                                          Method 1 Method 2
    • Death Dealer will cost around 50k gold and 60k for Shield Imp.
                                                                                                              Doubler 750 70k 70k
    • There are some standard buffs which you will buy anyway (total worth depends a AL, Lib, TH, Mer, AM, Con 50k 50k
lot on buff levels you seek!). Fury, Ber200, EA, EW 30k 30k
    • Also you will have some buffs yourself or guild mates will buff you, so you can DD + SSI 110k
avoid having to buy some of these standard buffs. CA 50k
                                                                                                    Buffing yourself/from guildmates -70k -70k
So when are you breaking even on a hunt?
                                                                                                               Total cost 130k 190k
I was getting around 300 gold per stamina used at level 300, which means: “X amount of
                                                                                                             Stamina usage 125% 100%
stamina” times “300 gold per stamina” should be greater than 190k gold to make a hunt
financially profitable. Here X should be at least 633. So this means you can break even at a
hunt of only 633 stamina while using ‘expensive’ buffs like DD and SSI.
That is of course at level 300. But even if you are at level 200 and say get half the amount of gold per stamina, then you will still break even at 1267 stamina and
do not have to use extra stamina per creature (which CA will make you do!), which would have otherwise decreased your gold gain per stamina. That is why I
went with DD + SSI, earned a lot of gold and levelled up fast. ☺

Smashing Hammer, Coordinated Attack and Cursed Rune – three new buffs
A few new buffs at level 1000, 1200 and 1400 have been introduced and a few of them have quite some impact on hunting. Now that some players have
reached level 1200 the buff Smashing Hammer is available. You might say that those players charge a lot for that buff but in a moment I will show you it is still
worth to buy it even at 1 or 2 FSP (for the calculations on SH and CoorAt go to page 8). Two buffs that have been around for a little bit longer are the level
1000 buffs called Cursed Rune and Coordinated Attack which I will call CoorAt occasionally (I want to avoid confusion with Counter Attack so not many other
options are possible anyway).
Coordinated Attack
CoorAt will increase your total damage and attack by 8.75% (when using CoorAt 175) if all of your items are part of a set. You do not have to wear the entire
set; wearing 9 items from 9 different sets is sufficient. Wearing 8 items from 8 different sets and leaving 1 slot empty is alright too, but do not wear any items
that are NOT part of a set or you will lose the 8.75% bonuses. And 8.75% is actually quite a lot. ☺
Hunting setups are generally composed of equipment with the highest damage. These are sometimes non-set items (like Ring of Ignoal, Gloves of Servala and
even Skaldir Frostbitten Boots (epics are not sets)), sometimes set items (like the Glowing Diamond of Kozyu and Witches Catseye Shield) and sometimes
complete sets (like the Destroyer set, Lezhal set, etc.). In some cases it is worth to switch all non-set items to set items or sets with less damage because the
8.75% boost on damage is higher than the damage we will lose by switching to these “lesser” set items. And sometimes it is not...
I introduce this buff at level 334 because from level 300 onward the best hunting equipment already contains a lot of set items and sets, so there are not many
non-set items we need to replace to get the damage and attack bonuses from CoorAt. By using CoorAt we will need CA less often. And even if we still need to
use CA in that case we do not need to use a very high level of it anymore. Sometimes we do not even have to buy certain buffs or potions (like Fury or Dark
Curse) because of the CoorAt bonuses. ☺
Smashing Hammer
Smashing Hammer (SH) is a level 1200 buff and it works a bit like Keen Edge because it also increases a certain stat based on the number of full sets you are
wearing. But instead of giving (at level 175) a 17.5% bonus on attack per set (what KE does) it gives a 8.75% bonus on damage per set. So wearing two or three
full sets can give you huge damage bonuses!
These two buffs go extremely well together because SH requires you to wear some full sets and CoorAt requires you to wear only set items (and of course a full
set consists of set items ☺). CoorAt will give you a bonus of 8.75% on your total attack and damage while SH gives a bonus of 8.75% per set on your total
damage (not just the damage of the set). Depending on the number of sets you wear this combination could increase your damage with around 17.5% (1 set),
26.25% (2 sets), 35% (3 sets) or even 43.75% (4 sets).
Without doubt SH and (to a lesser extend) CoorAt will have a huge influence on the choice of equipment in this guide. And at a price of 2-4 FSP for both buffs
together it is well worth it because you can raise your damage by around 35%. More damage means less and lower CA which saves gold and stamina. Lateron in
the guide it postpones the need to use EW1000 and EW1500 potions so you can keep on using lower EW levels and save yourself a few FSP per hunt. ☺
Cursed Rune
Cursed Rune (CRune) is a buff that works fairly similar to EW, EA, ES or IF, but it is twice as strong and it has a huge penalty when used with crystalline.
Crystalline sets will be used more often because sets and set items are now preferred due to SH and CoorAt; and a lot of great hunting sets have been released at
the end of July 2011. When having to choose between crystalline and CRune it is often crystalline that wins (except between level 500 and 574).

New lay-out
The next part of the guide has a different lay-out because it is much easier for me to present the guide in that format. I have listed all items and everytime one of
them changes they are put in a purple-pink box in bold for your convenience.
The abbreviations used are CA (Counter Attack), HF (Holy Flame), DC (Dark Curse), KE (Keen Edge), Const (Constitution), FL (Flinch), Sanc (Sanctuary),
Terr (Terrorize) and Safe? (are you able to protect your imps?). The way to use them is as follows:
   - The CA levels mentioned are guildelines (i.e. it is not a big problem if you use CA of a few levels lower (~5 levels));
   - If in the HF column it says “Yes” then the use of HF 150 is advised (if a higher level is needed then I have mentioned the level);
   - The level mentioned under DC is an absolute minimum so make sure you get a buff (or potion) of at least that level;
   - If it says “Yes” in the column KE then I advice you to use KE 165 (if a higher level is needed then I have mentioned the level);
The next three columns are useful to get enough defense to protect yourself against creatures hitting back. It is not necessary to 1-hit but it keeps your Imps
alive a lot longer. ☺
    - The number listed under Const is an absolute minimum so make sure you get a Constitution buff (or potion) of at least that level;
    - If it says “Yes” in the column FL then I advice you to use Flinch 175.
    - If it says “Yes” in the column CD then I advice you to use Coordinated Defense 175.
   -
The two columns after that are like the previous ones, except they tell whether you need to boost your Armor to stay safe instead of Defense. Again it is not
necessary to 1-hit but it keeps your Imps alive a lot longer. ☺
   - The number listed under Sanc is an absolute minimum so make sure you get a Sanctuary buff (or potion) of at least that level;
   - If it says “Yes” in the column Terr then I advice you to use Terrorize 175.
The last column says whether you can protect your imps or not. If you use the Defense or Armor increasing buffs then your imp should be reasonably safe
(remember there is always a 2% chance that your Defense doesn’t work and Armor can be defeated by Piercing Strike and Critical Hit and some creature have
that.). Sometimes it is not necessary to get Defense or Armor increasing buffs because your Defense or Armor is already high enough. And sometimes it is not
possible to get enough Defense or Armor so then you will have to “suicide” 1-hit your way through the creatures. It might cost 1 full imp per level then.

                                                                   Have fun!

                                                                      ☺
From now on I advice the use of Smashing Hammer 175.
                                        Use Berserk 300 potions at level 240, 244, 263, 267, 268, 275 and 292
Use EW 150+ from level 240 to 279. From level 280 onwards use EA 150+.

Crystalline items (Spine) and Unbreakable
A vital set to 1-hit from level 350 until 499 is the Octo Spine Set. Also the Green Spine Boots are very useful to get a setup with only set items (so CoorAt can
be used). Using other items will result in a lot less damage. However crystalline items are a bit expensive and they cannot be repaired (i.e. they ‘break’).
If you really cannot afford to buy Spine items then use the Glowing Diamond of Kozyu, Dwarf Skin Clawed Boots and Witches Catseye Shield (until level
363; from level 364 use the Pharaoh Sarcophagus Lid). In most cases you will need to use a higher CA level (approximately 80-100 points higher) and DC level
(add approximately 150 to a low level DCs and 100 to high level DCs and those with KE). Trust me that buying the Octo set and Green Spine boots is nearly
always the best way to go; even if you can not afford to forge it. You can even counter the loss of damage from not forging using Berserk 300 potions
instead of the level 150 buff.
Also Spine items can be sold after using them (so the price is mostly a temporary problem) and the fact that they can break can be solved by using the
Unbreakable skill. This skill reduces durability loss of items by 0.5% per level and comes in the form of buffs (up till 175, resulting in a reduction of 87.5% in
durability loss) and potions (there is a level 190 potion that reduces durability loss by 95%; it can also be increase to 200 with Distil 50 resulting in no durability
loss at all!). Now the main question is: Is it better to take hits or buy the skill (and what level)?
How much does a durability hit cost me?
The prices for crystalline items is currently very low (nearly all Spine creatures were on the maps a few days ago). But in due time the price will probably rise to
around 35 FSP for a non-forged and excellent/perfect Octo Spine Shield, 15 FSP for the Octo Spine Rune and 15 FSP for the Green Spine Boots. The items
will be able to take some hits, but if they are forged then we can always sell the items if they have at least 1 durability point left to people that play the PvP
Arena. This calculation assumes you do not forge them, but if you do they may sell for around 40-50 FSP in total when durability reaches 1.
The price of the items divided by the durability points tells our cost of 1 durability hit. This is around 33k gold for the Octo Spine Shield, 14k gold for the
Octo Spine Rune and 19k for the Green Spine Boots.
So how many durability hits will we encounter during a hunt?
It depends on your maximum stamina, buffs and hunting style. If you use Doubler 1200 potions you will have as little kills as possible, so you reduce the
number of durability hits. Doubler 750 is a very good alternative. 1-hitting will decrease the number of rounds per combat, make you level faster and reduce
the number of hunts where you will need Spine items. Furthermore, the Unbreakable skill reduces durability hits.
Now to get the baseline number for durability hits, a player called RJEM has examined how many durability hits items take on an average hunt without the use
of Unbreakable. There is no difference between items on which takes the durability hit so crystalline items have the same chance as any other item. On average
1 kill results in 0.52 durability hits taken, this means (with Doubler 750) there will be 1 durability hit every 30.77 stamina used. This does not automatically
mean the Spine items will take those hits, but on average each item will have taken 1 hit every 9 times a durability hit occurs. On average after 276.9 stamina all
Spine items will have each taken 1 hit, meaning you have ‘virtually lost’ 66k gold.
Buffs and potions
With Unbreakable the amount of hits can be reduced, but it has a gold price. The table on the Buff Dura. Loss Cost Per 5000 Per 3000

Is it a viable strategy? 175 40k 8k 189k 129k
For some it may seem expensive to hunt this way. This is the case if you have little maximum 190 125k 3k 185k 161k
stamina. I mentioned before (the Death Dealer section) that around level 300 your breakeven 190 Distil 125k 0k 125k 125k
point (when “gold earned” equals “gold spent on buffs”) will be less than 700 stamina.
At level 350 this breakeven point will change due to a slighlty increased gold per kill, durability loss on the crystalline items and the cost of a Unbreakable buff
or potion. To do the math: you will earn around 325 gold per stamina and you have a total cost of around 451k for buffs and durability loss (190k for most
buffs (see Death Dealer section) + 40k (Unbreakable 175 buff) + 149k (durability loss)). This will result in a breakeven point at around 1166 stamina. ☺

EW, EA & Berserk potions – The next step in increasing damage
It should not come as a shock when I tell you that 1-hitting has everything to do with raising your damage. This can be done by items, buffs and potions, but
every solution has its price. Items cost gold to buy and forge, buffs cost stamina or gold to cast and potion cost gold to purchase. There is one buff that is
central in this guide: Counter Attack. Getting the buff costs gold and the use of the buff will cost stamina, but sometimes it is the best (financial) way to go
because other options have an even higher price. However, there comes a time when even I cannot resist the temptation of these potions. If you do not use
potions then the required CA level will continue to rise and this will make hunting very inefficient (and makes you earn less gold with your stamina).
There are some potions and buffs that can raise damage and where would I have been if I would not analyse their efficiency and cost first? ☺
Here is a list of the most relevant ones (I will often refer to the setup of level 400):
Enchanted Armor 200 – Potion of Enchanted Armor. This potion will cost you about 0.8 FSP and will increase your armor’s stats with 20%. However, you
normally would have bought an EA 150 buff for only a small amount of gold, so the actual increase is only 5%. Based on the Ko Lash Plate, this results in an
increase of 12 attack, 22 damage and 12 armor. That is only 28 damage points per FSP.
Berserk 350 – Potion of Fury. This potion increases your base damage with 70% and will cost around 0.5 FSP. But you would normally have bought the
Berserk 300 potion for nearly nothing, so the increase is only 10%. Your base damage by level 400 should be around 750 or higher and thus the increase will be
around 75, or 150 damage points per FSP.
Enchant Weapon 1000 – Potion of Truth. This potion increases the stats of your weapon by 100% minus 15% from the EW150 you would have bought
otherwise. Based on the Ko Lash Axe this increase is 634 damage points. With an average cost of 2 FSP the gain is 317 damage points per FSP.
Enchant Weapon 1500 – Potion of Greater Enchant Weapon. Same story as the EW1000 potion, but here we should not compare it with EW150, but with
EW1000 because we would otherwise buy that potion. So the net increase now is 50%, resulting in and extra of 317 damage points. With a price of 4-5 FSP per
potion the price difference is 2.5 FSP. This is an actual increase of 127 damage points per FSP.
Fury 200 – Potion of Blinding Rage. This potion increases your base damage with 20% and will cost around 1 FSP. And compared to Fury 150 the increase is
only 5%. Your base damage by now should be around 750 or up and thus the increase will be around 38, or 38 damage points per FSP.
Fury 350 – Potion of Incandescent Fury. This potion increases your base damage with 35% and will cost around 3 FSP. Compared to Fury 150 the increase is
only 20% of 750 and thus the increase will be around 150, or 50 damage points per FSP.
Smashing Hammer 175 – Level 1200 buff. Smashing Hammer gives a bonus of 8.75% of your total damage per full set you are wearing and costs around 1.5
FSP. Most setups in this guide (from level 240 onwards) consist of 2 but more often 3 or 4 sets so the increase is roughly 17.5% to 35%. Based on the level 400
setup (3 sets) it adds 2897 damage, or 1931 damage points per FSP.
Coordinated Attack 175 – Level 1000 buff. It gives a bonus of 8.75% to your total damage and attack when wearing only set items and costs around 1 FSP.
From level 334 onwards most setups consist of only set items and at level 400 it gives an extra 179 attack and 965 damage, or 965 damage points per FSP.
It might look that most of these potions do not add much damage, but know that it only takes a bit to avoid having to use CA. The EW potions are used here
with the Ko Lash Axe, which is relatively low on damage compared to other weapons in this guide so the EW potions will do slightly better most of the time.
Without doubt the buffs SH and CoorAt are incredibly powerful! The most useful potions are EW 1000 and Berserk 350. EW 1500 and Fury 350 are
somewhat useful and EA 200 and Fury 200 are least useful.
The use of EW 1000 lowers the required CA level with around 30 to 40 levels (saving you stamina and thus also gold). One drawback of this potion is the fact
that it sells on AH without a maximum bid, or on the Potion Bazaar for a higher price. So make sure you have bought the potion in advance!
From level 350 Octo Spine is used so use a high level UB buff or potion.
                                              I advise the use of Berserk 300 at level 364, 374, 377, 379, 382 and 385.
Use EW 150+ from level 350 onwards. Also use EA 150+ at all levels.

Level 400… Did someone say Xinderoth? ☺
Yippie! We have made it to the loveliest place in Fallen Sword. Huge maps with lots of quests: an excellent place to burn some excess stamina.
For this lovely place I have divided the guide into two parts: level 400 and level 401-420.
So first of all, the level 400 part. The level 400 map is just huge, with lots of quests and even more creatures. Saying “a guide would be nice here” is like saying
“bringing water along with you when you go to the desert might be smart” or any other top10 understatement of the century. As I have done every quest up to
this point, I will not skip any quests in Xinderoths Palace. One strategy to complete the first levels easily is to do every quest of level 350-399 without fully
completing them. This can be done by starting a quest, killing the X amount of creatures you have to do, but not claim your prize yet. When you reach level 400
you go back and claim every quest reward and level up fast. I will not do this; it is a waste of stamina and I like the Xinderoth challenge. ☺
Tips
You will be walking the map a LOT. So get the buff Light Foot; level 175 should be a good start. It will reduce the amount of stamina used to walk (it works a
lot like the buff Conserve, but for walking instead of attacking creatures).
There are several options to complete this level while doing quests. You will have to get an extra 4,788,010 XP to get to level 401. A big amount of that,
2,231,974 XP, can be gained from quests, so you will need to get 2,556,036 XP from killing creatures. But for the quests you already need to kill at least 125
creatures (and some more to get 3 specific quest item drops). If you use Doubler level 750 you will get much more than the required XP, resulting in suboptimal
levelling for the last part of the map (as you will get a 20% XP penalty when you hunt below your own level).
    • The first option is to hunt part of the map suboptimal. Not ideal, but it is simple to do.
    • The second option is to begin your hunt with a low level Doubler (like level 150) and use Death Dealer, Summon Shield Imp and Counter Attack 100. A
few Imps will die, but you will hunt somewhat efficient.
    • The third option is to begin your hunt without Doubler and Death Dealer and instead use Counter Attack level 175 to get enough damage. You will die
sometimes, but you do not need a kill streak and you will not lose too much gold and XP when you die.
    • The fourth option is the same as the first, except you will not use Counter Attack, but instead use Wither 350 and a set up with enough defense and go
         hunting the creatures.
I suggest using the first option. Although you will hunt suboptimal, the biggest quest and its XP reward will be the last part on this map, so most of your
hunting will be done while still being level 400 and is thus optimal. You can choose to disable Doubler when you nearly reach level 401 if you want.
The second option will take four times as much Imps than the first one, so it is rather expensive to use (although quite efficient). The third option will take 2
stamina per normal kill, with only the normal experience and gold: quite inefficient and thus not really my choice. The last option is much better than the third
one, but I have little experience with Wither-based hunting and it the Wither potion is expensive.
The next pages contain the quest guide and equipment guide followed by the big map.

Equipment guide – Now what to wear?
Yes, the women syndrome… Just kidding! ☺
It is very simple. With this many creatures you do not want to change suits every time you encounter a creature. Even though most creatures will be hunted
sequential, some creatures like the Xinderoth Stray, Xinderoth Executioner and Xinderoth Watcher and to some extent also the Xindor Fire Breather and
Contract Assassin will be hunted during most of this level. Therefore, I will provide you with a one-suit-fits-all setup.
The best damage set is in fact the Crushing Fist set, the Octo Spine set and the Ko Lash set combined with the Sphynx Helmet and the Argus Boots.

For the map (with nice colours) see the page after this one.
Quest guide
You enter the map at (2,21). Do not start attacking creatures, but instead write down where you have found which creatures. The only creatures you should
attack are the Xinderoth Stray, the Xinderoth Executioner and the Xinderoth Watcher, because they drop one quest item each. So use Find Item and Quest
Finder to get them to drop it. After getting their drop stop attacking them. The key to this map is to go to a quest location, then kill first the type of
creature for that quest, return to the quest location and start hunting another type of creature. Finding enough creatures of one type is crucial in
efficiently completing this map. So write their locations and names down. Really do that! You can thank yourself for it later. ☺

From the starting point make your way to (2,2) is the starting location for the quest “Bite the Hand”; it is the biggest quest. Activate the quest and walk to (7,6). Enter
the Xinderoth Stately Mansion and go to the next step of the quest in the middle of the room. He wants you to kill 30 Contract Assassins so hopefully you have found
some before and written them down.
Kill those and while (not too actively) searching for the rest of the 30 Contract Assassins, make your way to (15,3) to activate the quest “The Heat of Ambition”. It is
an easy quest with a nice reward. It requires you to kill 20 Xindor Fire Breathers. You do not have to actively search for those creatures. You likely will come across
enough of them when you do the rest of this guide. And keep writing down new creatures you find (and adjust your earlier writings in case someone else is hunting at
the same time and has killed some creatures).
Now you can do a quest without any reward (it does count for your medal though and otherwise you can not complete the other quests). Go to the Xinderoth Stately
Mansion and then move on to (8,33). Here you can start one of the smaller quests called “Filthy Animals”. First, you need to get a Stray Head, which is dropped by
the Xinderoth Stray. Hopefully you already got the Stray to drop it, otherwise get Quest Finder and hunt some Xinderoth Strays. Now go to Ullthurs Preserves (1,38)
and give the Stray Head. Then head over to Fresh Sprig (4,27) and buy Seaple Wort. Now bring it to Ullthurs Preserves and finally go back to (8,33) to claim your
‘reward’…
I hope your list of creature locations is getting substantial by now. Now walk to the Xinderoth Hall (18,34) to activate the quest “Festival Revelers”. You have to kill
25 Angry Drunks, of which some are already be on your written list of creatures. Go get them! ☺
After claiming your prize for the Festival Revelers quest go to Stoneroot Engineering (36,25) to start the quest “Lead Astray”. Now walk to (30,13) and then hunt 20
Ogre Labourers. Go back to (30,13) and then walk to the Purple Dragon Inn (30,4). Finally claim your reward at Stoneroot Engineering (36,25).
Now is the time to finish the rest of the Bite the Hand quest, because the other quests have unlocked certain rooms. While going to the Xinderoth Stately Mansion
(7,6) you may want to visit (15,3) in case you have not yet fully completed the “The Heat of Ambition” quest, but have killed the 20 Xindor Fire Breathers (if you
have not killed all 20 just do so while also hunting the two creatures I will introduce in a few lines).
When you arrive at the Xinderoth Stately Mansion (7,6) go forward to the Xinderoth Chamber through the Xinderoth Stately Hall. Now you get the green light to
hunt 15 Xindor Bear Tamers. Hopefully you have some on your written list. After successfully hunting them go back to the Xinderoth Chamber (7,6) where you are
asked to kill 15 Xinderoth City Guards. After killing them head back to the Xinderoth Chamber (7,6) again. There you will be told to get a Xinderoth Death Key,
which you should have by now (remember hunting the Xinderoth Executioners?). Then go to the Xinderoth Death Row, by going through the Xinderoth City Keep
(15,8). Again report back to the Xinderoth Chamber (7,6).
Now head over to Snake and Ferret (7,16) (yes, I ran out of colours…) where you will be asked to travel to Traders Home (17,21) and finish this last quest.
Congratulations! You should be level 401 now and you can travel to the next level by going to (19,17) ☺
Did someone say Xinderoth? – Part 2
I will first give you the quest guide and then the equipment guide. Now that you have reached level 401 you must be realising that you still have 20 levels to go,
but do not worry: less difficult quests and you may kill all creatures you encounter. ☺
Always get Light Buff. Most maps are sparsely populated with creatures and some quests require a lot of walking.
Quest Guide
401 First get a good Find Item buff and a Quest Finder. Head to (18,31) to start the quest. Remember the Xinderoth Watcher you hunted at level 400? It
dropped a Summoning Seal. Hand it over and hunt your way to level 402. When you reach level 402 go to (16,15) to show the Xind Crystal that the
Decapoid by now should have dropped. Then walk to (2,7) to exchange the crystal for another one. Return to (18,31) to claim your reward.
402 Head to (15,29) to start the quest. Kill 25 Xinderoth Friars and return to the location afterwards. You now will be able to enter the Sanctum of Doth
(22,8). Within the Sanctum of Doth go to (2,9) to claim the reward and keep the Shard until you activate the level 403 quest. Here are more creatures
so hunt until you reach 403.
403 Also get a good Find Item buff and a Quest Finder and hunt all you want. Head to (10,10) to start the quest. Get the Laughing Fiend to drop the Orb of
Chaos and bring it to (10,10). Then walk to the Circle of the Fiend (2,18) and within the Circle of the Fiend go to (2,2) and complete the quest and keep
this Shard until you activate the 404 quest. Since here are a few more creatures hunt until you reach 404.
404 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (12,18) to start the quest. The Xinderoth Anchorite will eventually drop the Doth Blade,
which you have to bring back to (12,18). Now go to these locations in this order: (27,19), (2,22), (16,27), (12,18) and (11,18). Keep this Shard until you
activate the 406 quest and hunt until you reach 405.
405 Head to (2,32) to start the quest. Hunt a lot of Citadel Slimes and when you reach level 406 go to (17,16) and get the reward.
406 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (14,13) to start the quest. Hunt the Xinderoth Cenobite and bring the drop Cenobite Spell
Focus to (14,13). Now go to (12,31), claim you reward and keep this shard until you activate the 407 quest. Hunt until you reach level 407.
407 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (13,22) to start the quest and hunt Stone Hippogriffs to get them to drop a Stone Paw. Hand
it over at (13,22), go to the Golem Workshop (2,16), inside get your reward at (9,2) and keep the Shard until the level 409 quest. Hunt until you reach
level 408. The Golem Workshop has a bit more creatures.
408 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (13,24) to start the quest and hunt Opticor Guards to get them to drop a Tainted Xind
Shard. Hand it over at (13,24) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 409.
409 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (16,16) to start the quest and hunt Void Beings to get them to drop a Void Essence. Hand it
over at (16,16), then claim your reward at (2,22) and keep the shard until you activate the level 411 quest. Hunt until you reach level 410.
410 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (14,11) to start the quest and hunt Exalted Xindors to get them to drop a Fake Eye. Hand it
over at (14,11) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 411.
411 Head to (1,13) to start the quest and hunt 24 Theorems and return to (1,13). Then go to the Theorem Barracks (13,3), within the Theorem Barracks go
to (10,4) and start hunting 50 Enhanced Theorems. Finally return to Theorem Barracks (10,4), then go to (2,2) within the Chamber of the Theorem
(1,7) and keep the shard until the level 413 quest. Hunt until you reach level 412.
412 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (12,22) to start the quest and hunt Xind Warriors to get them to drop a Xinderoth Vault
Key. Hand it over at (12,22) and then go to (2,2) within the Xinderoth Vault (12,23) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 413.
413 Head to (4,12) and then hunt 25 Xind Beacons. Return to (4,12) and keep the shard until the level 416 quest. Hunt until you reach level 414.
414 Head to (23,5) to start the quest and then go to (13,12). Now hunt until you reach level 415.
415 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (9,9) to start the quest and hunt Xinderoth Sarabaite (Champion) until they drop an
Adventurers Compass. Hand it over at (9,9) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 416. To beat the champion you can wear the Crushing
Fist and Opticor sets together with the Helm of Dagoresh, the Pharaoh shield and the Argus Boots and use Constitution 250 and Dark Curse.
416 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (13,11) to start the quest and hunt Xind Puppeteers to get them to drop a Xind Core. Hand it
over at (13,11), then go to (2,7) within the Puppeteers Sanctum (11,5) to complete the quest and keep the shard until the third level 419 quest. Hunt
       until you reach level 417.
417 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (6,16) to start the quest and hunt Citadel Constructs until they drop Xind Spheres. Hand it
over at (6,16) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 418.
418 Head to (14,9) to start the quest and hunt 20 Figures of Xinderoth. Go back to (14,9) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 419.
419a First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. There are three quests. First head to (2,4) to start the first quest and hunt Glass Maidens to get them
to drop a Glass Maiden Mask. Hand it over at (2,4) to complete the quest. The second quest on this map can not be started until you are level 420 and it
requires an item from the third quest, so go to the start location which can be reached by going through Xinderoth Corridor 1 (7,6), then to the Hall of
Heartache (8,2) and to the location at (11,3). Keep the Xinderoth Scepter. Now hunt until you reach level 420 while heading towards (3,9) in the
Citadel of Xinderoth (Floor 19) and when you reach level 420 enter it.
420a First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (9,13) to start the quest and hunt Eyes of Xinderoth until they drop a Xind Prism. Hand it
over at (9,13) to complete the quest and go back to (11,14) to enter Citadel of Xinderoth (Floor 19) again.
419b Now go to (11,10) to start and finish the second quest and go to the Xinderoth Corridor 2 at (11,9) and on to the Chamber of Xinderoth at (2,1).
420b Head to (15,13) to start the quest and kill a Xinderoth Master of Magic (Elite) (you may need some good buffs (Constitution, SK, SA, DW, SSI, etc.) and
a small group with lots of defense and attack). Now hunt until you reach level 421 and make your way to (15,13). This time go to the Xinderoths Library
at (10,6), then head to the Palace of Xinderoth (6,9), find Xinderoth (Super Elite) and kill it (with a large group, really good buffs and definitely SES).
Now that Xinderoth is dead you can get out that insanely large citadel. And Xinderoths bedroom was deep into his citadel… Go back to Xinderoths Library at
(14,16), then to Chamber of Xinderoth (Floor 20) at (2,10), Xinderoth Corridor 2 at (15,14), further on to Citadel of Xinderoth at (Floor 19) (2,8) and then to
Citadel of Xinderoth (Floor 20) (3,9). Before you finally go to the Empty Plains (North) at (1,13) one crucial warning: put on sunglasses!
Now that you have left the citadel the sun is likely to blind your eyes. Be glad you are wearing those sunglasses. ☺

Savanc's equipment guide v4.3

  • 1. Savanc’s Equipment Guide Version 4.3 Dear PoLC member, This is an extensive guide to successfully 1-hit your way from level 1 to level 1200. I have most of this guide from level 70 to where I am now. It did work for me and hopefully for you as well. ^_^ The guide is divided into several parts: levels 1-185, which are relatively easy 1-hit areas (with special guides on the Lenzwer Forest (level 110-115) and level 140-149); levels 186-239, during which I suggest you start to use Death Dealer with Summon Shield Imp; levels 240-349, during which I suggest you start to use a new buff called Smashing Hammer and the lay-out changes a bit; levels 350-399, during which crystalline items will be used; levels 400-420, which are levels in Xinderoth and are different for reasons you will understand when you get there; levels 421-950, which are quite straightforward levels; levels 951-970, which are levels in Karthak which is somewhat like Xinderoth except leveling is a bit easier and the quests are a lot harder; levels 971-1200, which are again quite normal hunting levels. Some basic information: Standard buffs - I suggest you always hunt with Adept Learner, Librarian, Animal Magnetism, Conserve, Merchant, Treasure Hunter and Doubler (except when mentioned). - From level 186 onwards I suggest using Fury (around level 150) and Berserk (around level 150, but a good alternative is the cheap level 200 potion – Dragon Blood Potion). - From level 240 onwards I suggest using Enchant Weapon (around level 150) unless the weapon was the Destroyer one (because then EW gives only very small bonuses)., and Enchanted Armor from level 280 onwards. - The buffs mentioned above will NOT be mentioned every time in the guide, because it would be too elaborate. Damage buffs and updates - From level 240 onwards I occasionally suggest using Berserk300 (Berserkers Potion). How to “read” buff suggestions - CA levels mentioned are guildelines. This means it is not a big problem if you use CA of a few levels lower (+/- 5 levels is quite ok). For example, if the guide says CA 5 then using no CA at all will still keep you 1-hitting nearly all the time. Using slightly different CA levels than the guide can be useful if you want to get the extra damage from CA without using a lot of extra stamina. For details see Appendix II. - DC levels mentioned are absolute minima. Do not use a DC lower than the number mentioned, because even 1 level lower can make you miss the creature a lot. So make sure you get a buff (or potion) of at least that level; - Constitution and Flinch can be useful to keep your imps alive. In most levels it is impossible to get enough damage to 1-hit while also getting enough defense to stay safe. The Constitution levels mentioned are like the DC levels: they are absolute minima. If you use lower levels then you will not be safe from a creatures’s attacks. Extra information - buffs - The level of Counter Attack mention in this guide includes our two currently empowered relics. They give a 10% attack, armor, damage and HP bonus and a 5% defense bonus. If we do not have two empowered relics then you should raise the mentioned CA level by 20 points per relic. Currently we have a 10% damage (and most other stats) bonus and the guide is based on us having them. - All buffs mentioned in this guide are of at least level 150 unless noted otherwise (with the exception of IF, ES, CoorAt, EF (which are of level 175), EH (which is level 75) and Keen Edge (which is at least level 165)). In case where you have too little attack I have mentioned the minimal level of Dark Curse and if needed then I also mention the use of Keen Edge. You of course can choose to use Keen Edge when I do not mention it and lower the required Dark Curse level. For a DC to KE+DC conversion table see Appendix I. - When using Summon Shield Imp (and Death Dealer) the use of Potion of Greater Doubler or Potion of Intensity (Doubler level 750 or Doubler 1200) is highly advised as it reduces the number of attacks during a hunt and thus reduces the number of possible deaths of your Shield Imp (and avoiding having to purchase it multiple times). Extra information - various - When a map has multiple creatures then hunting creatures of a lower level or Champions is not advised. If a map also has creatures of higher levels then you can hunt them, but make sure you use the buffs of the level of the corresponding creature. For example, Dark Vale (North) (level 345) has Ghouls (level 345) which can be defeated without Counter Attack or Dark Curse, but also has the Dark Vale Vines (level 346) and they can only be defeated with Dark Curse 106 or higher. To hunt the level 346 creature you need that buff even though the guide says level 345 does not need it. - Most of my level up points are in damage (everything except around 20 points). I hope you also have spent a lot of points in damage as this guide assumes you have at least 80% of your level up points in damage. - Items used were mostly guild-owned, perfect/excellent crafted and fully forged. Appendix III contains a list of hunting items that appear in the guide. - There are many alternatives to this equipment guide, so please use what suits you and what is available. Now onto the equipment guide. Have fun! ☺

Simply, some creatures have much higher stats, making it (near) impossible to 1-hit them without the use of expensive buffs. The 110’s are composed out of 3 different kinds of areas, namely the Lenzwer Forest (North), the rest of Lenzwer Forest and all the other areas. First about all the other areas; they are just there, have ordinary creatures and nothing really interesting is there to mention. ☺ Lenzwer Forest (North) You will have to travel through the Lenzwer Forest (North) (yes, you can go around it by using a portal to Garford Valley, but you will have to level very, very ineffective for 2 or 3 levels straight to make that work, so do not do that!). The Lenzwer Forest (North) holds 3 different creatures. The Dwarf Woodsman and the Wood Elf Maid are our ‘friendly’ creatures. Friendly, because they are not that hard to defeat; just make sure you have the right equipment. You will need at least 719 attack and 847 damage combined with either 608 defense or 597 armor. I would go with armor, because the sets around level 110 mostly contain some armor. There are several options to get this. Just to name one: Krimson Kardic Helmet, Writhing Ward, Reborn Elemental Air Javalin, Full Moon Wolf Pelt, Lesser Santork Gloves, Rune of Decay, Dralpo Amulet, Ring of Alcast and Tirkin Kicking Boots. Did I also mention that the Dwarf is level 112 and the Elf is 113? That means you can kill them while still getting the normal XP per kill even when you are level 112 and 113 (the latter of course only goes for the Elf). There is also creature number 3, which is the Mushcaria Beast. Either have a very good equipment (the Full Moon equipment with all extra items and all Full Forged and Perfect will do the trick), or just ignore him because 2-hitting takes twice as much stamina for the same amount of XP of what 1-hitting would take. So you probably want to stick to the Elf and Dwarf (and at level 113 only the Elf). Rest of Lenzwer Forest Next part is the Lenzwer Forest itself. It is NOT necessary that you go there. You can hunt Dwarves and Elves until you are level 113 and then move on to Ganford Valley and continue hunting in more normal areas. You will need a little bit of attack and a lot of damage to 1-hit this monster. Also make sure you can take a punch so get some armor. There is a minor quest here that wants you to kill some of these creatures. Do it and when you have reached 113 (yes 113, not 112!) then go on to the next map. The creature here (Were Vulpes) is vile and 3-hitting is an evil word at level 112 or 113, so you better just walk to the next map without attacking anything here. Well then, now that we are at Lenzwer Forest (Depths) we can take a deep breath. Yeay! Here the quest begins! May I advise you to read all the dialogues? It definitely increases the fun of this quest. ☺ There are some Wood Elf Maids again (easy killing to get to level 114), but also Lenzwer Dryads. You do not want to hunt them, but you will have to. They drop Dark Seeds and you will need this item to complete the first part of the quest. So please hunt with Find Item and absolutely a high level Quest Finder. Hunt them until they drop a Dark Seed and bring it to the right location. The next part of this quest is Lenzwer Dark Hollows. It requires some walking around in the first part and some killing later on. Just go to the locations in the right order (middle, bottom-left, middle, top-right and finally middle again). Then he asks you to kill 30 Lenzwer Root Monsters. Now is the time to start wondering why on Earth we even started this madness. First of all, do not even think of making guild attack groups for this. Since you will need to kill 30 of them it will take you alone 600 stamina (and some stamina for walking) plus a lot of stamina for other guild members as well. Just get the buff Wither, some lifesaving buffs (Last Ditch, Stun, Shockwave), do not use Doubler (we do not want to hunt them for XP, but just want to kill 30 of them with as little stamina as possible) and make sure you have much defense or armor. It probably is easier to get the 619 defense than the 1233 armor, so (provided that you are level 114 and not 115) try something like Reborn Elemental Air Javalin and Krimson Kardic Helmet together with some defensive and damage items (some parts of the Leikmar set will do quite well). Just make sure you have around 619 defense and the rest should go into damage. Then you probably will have enough attack as well (you only need 367). If you are level 115 you might want to get a Shildorah or Kala set (yes “or”, because you also will want some damage and if you have both sets on (or the full Leikmar set for that matter) you will not have enough damage to finish him off easily).
  • 3. Now that you are able to kill the monster without getting killed yourself you still need to know that you want the creature to drop something: Mark of Kif. So get the buffs Find Item and Quest Finder again. You do not want to have to kill more than 30 of them. Next stop is the The Great Tree Canopy, which entrance can be found in Lenzwer Forest (Depths). We are looking for Kif the Lenzwer Druid (you will want to create a guild attack group for him). There are Wood Elf Maids, Enzwer Dryads and the lovely Grizlor Bear. Lovely, because he is the only regular creature here that is of level 114 and thus gives you normal XP per kill (the other 2 give you a bit less XP as they are only level 113). You can attack all creatures (lots of kills, but not always the best amount of XP) or only Bears and Elves (lots of easy kills, but not the best amount of XP) or only the Bears (less kills, but a good amount of XP). It is your choice. The Bear is not that difficult to defeat anyway. Once you have found and killed Kif return to the location to tell about it. When you are level 115 you may enter the Sanctum of Shildorah. Like in Lenzwer Forest (Path), you do not want to attack the common creature here, Dryad Warrior, with little to no chance of 1-hitting. So go to the Advisor, talk to him and travel around the map until you walk into Queen Shildorah (Elite). You will need a guild attack group as well to finish her off. Then head back to the Advisor and claim your prize: about 100k of XP! ☺ A guide to the 140s Welcome to the 140s! It must sound strange, but I loved the 140s. That is because a long time ago when I was there it was possible to 1-hit, but it would take much effort to do so (I like a good challenge). Nowadays it is somewhat easier but could still be considered a bit of a challenge. Because of the creatures’s huge HP, damage should be nearly maxed (but also remember your attack; it should be around 850 to tackle the strongest creature in the 140s). You can do this by getting the right items and getting the right buffs. With the right equipment you can do all this and have enough defense or armor to withstand creature’s attack. So first I will discuss the equipment and next are the buffs. Items For the right items use the Full Moon Wolf Pelt, Writhing Ward, Reborn Elemental Air Javalin, Krimson Kardic Helmet, Lesser Santork Gloves, Rune of Decay, Mancrusha Amulet, Mancrusha Ring and Mancrusha Boots. Make sure most items are Fully Forged and of a high level Craft (the guild has all of them). You can wear Jahd Ring or Boots of Almar for extra damage, but make sure your armor is still sufficient. Also never forget to repair regularly! Do not underestimate the effect of repairing, especially in areas where you do not have much extra damage! Buffs You will also need some buffs or potions (preferably level 145 or higher). The must have buffs are the Blood Fist Potion or Dragon Blood Potion (they are Berserk 175 and 200 potions and will raise your basic damage with 35% or 40%) and Fury (raises basic damage with 14-15%). Other quite decent buffs here are Enchanted Armor (raises your armor stats (so also damage) and Holy Flame (only against Plague Victim (level 141) as it causes extra damage to undead creatures). If you have used your level up points mostly (about 80% or more) in damage then your damage stat should be about 2500 by now, and you are doing ok. I have mainly used Berserk, Fury, Enchanted Armor and Holy Flame (at level 141). Most buffs were of level 140-160 as they are cheap and give a decent increase in stats. • 4. 186 and beyond In the levels below 186 hunting was actually just the same as playing around with creatures, but now it is time to toughen up because the creatures did so too! Most of the creatures’s stats stay the same (attack, defense, armor and damage) but the HP doubles and this means you will need around 60% extra damage to keep on 1-hit killing creatures. Ouch... You could decide to start 2-hitting from now on but in the end it makes you level up much slower and gets you less gold. There are basically two things you need to do to get that extra damage. First of all, give up the idea of surviving on defense or armor. You will need most of your stats in damage so you will need to sacrifice the defense/armor. Staying alive in FS is overrated anyway... ☺ If you die you will lose a small amount of XP and part of your gold (so make sure you do not have much gold by banking it, sending it to someone, buying low amounts on valuable items on the Auction House, etc.). Secondly, you can use two different damage boosting buffs: Counter Attack or Death Dealer. Death Dealer gives a 20% damage bonus if you have a high enough kill streak (60+). How do we avoid losing a kill streak without defense or armor? Use Summon Shield Imp! The combination of DD+SSI is a little bit expensive but worth it in the long run. Counter Attack is generally cheaper but it also makes you use more stamina. How much depends on your level of Doubler. By using more stamina per kill you will get less gold per hunt (because you can kill less creatures) and less XP per hunt. Therefore I suggest using DD+SSI over CA. Death Dealer & Summon Shield Imp: is it too costly for me? You may have asked yourself that question, or not. But in any way I am going to discuss the topic because I asked myself this question around this time and it influenced my hunting after level 185 considerably. Counter Attack – Hunting will cost more stamina and it raises attack and damage (for example, level 100 increases all three with 25% each). Death Dealer – It raises damage with 20% if your kill streak is high enough (this means you must not die and therefore you should use Shield Imp). Just a simple bit of math (also see table on the right): • Counter Attack will cost you around 50k gold to buy. Buff Cost Method 1 Method 2 • Death Dealer will cost around 50k gold and 60k for Shield Imp. Doubler 750 70k 70k • There are some standard buffs which you will buy anyway (total worth depends a AL, Lib, TH, Mer, AM, Con 50k 50k lot on buff levels you seek!). Fury, Ber200, EA, EW 30k 30k • Also you will have some buffs yourself or guild mates will buff you, so you can DD + SSI 110k avoid having to buy some of these standard buffs. CA 50k Buffing yourself/from guildmates -70k -70k So when are you breaking even on a hunt? Total cost 130k 190k I was getting around 300 gold per stamina used at level 300, which means: “X amount of Stamina usage 125% 100% stamina” times “300 gold per stamina” should be greater than 190k gold to make a hunt financially profitable. Here X should be at least 633. So this means you can break even at a hunt of only 633 stamina while using ‘expensive’ buffs like DD and SSI. That is of course at level 300. But even if you are at level 200 and say get half the amount of gold per stamina, then you will still break even at 1267 stamina and do not have to use extra stamina per creature (which CA will make you do!), which would have otherwise decreased your gold gain per stamina. That is why I went with DD + SSI, earned a lot of gold and levelled up fast. ☺ Level Item Level Buffs Level Item Level Buffs Lezhal set Cu Sith set Death Ferals Gauntlets 186 Krimson Kardic Helmet Dealer 200 Krimson Kardic Helmet Reborn Ele. • 5. Smashing Hammer, Coordinated Attack and Cursed Rune – three new buffs A few new buffs at level 1000, 1200 and 1400 have been introduced and a few of them have quite some impact on hunting. Now that some players have reached level 1200 the buff Smashing Hammer is available. You might say that those players charge a lot for that buff but in a moment I will show you it is still worth to buy it even at 1 or 2 FSP (for the calculations on SH and CoorAt go to page 8). Two buffs that have been around for a little bit longer are the level 1000 buffs called Cursed Rune and Coordinated Attack which I will call CoorAt occasionally (I want to avoid confusion with Counter Attack so not many other options are possible anyway). Coordinated Attack CoorAt will increase your total damage and attack by 8.75% (when using CoorAt 175) if all of your items are part of a set. You do not have to wear the entire set; wearing 9 items from 9 different sets is sufficient. Wearing 8 items from 8 different sets and leaving 1 slot empty is alright too, but do not wear any items that are NOT part of a set or you will lose the 8.75% bonuses. And 8.75% is actually quite a lot. ☺ Hunting setups are generally composed of equipment with the highest damage. These are sometimes non-set items (like Ring of Ignoal, Gloves of Servala and even Skaldir Frostbitten Boots (epics are not sets)), sometimes set items (like the Glowing Diamond of Kozyu and Witches Catseye Shield) and sometimes complete sets (like the Destroyer set, Lezhal set, etc.). In some cases it is worth to switch all non-set items to set items or sets with less damage because the 8.75% boost on damage is higher than the damage we will lose by switching to these “lesser” set items. And sometimes it is not... I introduce this buff at level 334 because from level 300 onward the best hunting equipment already contains a lot of set items and sets, so there are not many non-set items we need to replace to get the damage and attack bonuses from CoorAt. By using CoorAt we will need CA less often. And even if we still need to use CA in that case we do not need to use a very high level of it anymore. Sometimes we do not even have to buy certain buffs or potions (like Fury or Dark Curse) because of the CoorAt bonuses. ☺ Smashing Hammer Smashing Hammer (SH) is a level 1200 buff and it works a bit like Keen Edge because it also increases a certain stat based on the number of full sets you are wearing. But instead of giving (at level 175) a 17.5% bonus on attack per set (what KE does) it gives a 8.75% bonus on damage per set. So wearing two or three full sets can give you huge damage bonuses! These two buffs go extremely well together because SH requires you to wear some full sets and CoorAt requires you to wear only set items (and of course a full set consists of set items ☺). CoorAt will give you a bonus of 8.75% on your total attack and damage while SH gives a bonus of 8.75% per set on your total damage (not just the damage of the set). Depending on the number of sets you wear this combination could increase your damage with around 17.5% (1 set), 26.25% (2 sets), 35% (3 sets) or even 43.75% (4 sets). Without doubt SH and (to a lesser extend) CoorAt will have a huge influence on the choice of equipment in this guide. And at a price of 2-4 FSP for both buffs together it is well worth it because you can raise your damage by around 35%. More damage means less and lower CA which saves gold and stamina. Lateron in the guide it postpones the need to use EW1000 and EW1500 potions so you can keep on using lower EW levels and save yourself a few FSP per hunt. ☺ Cursed Rune Cursed Rune (CRune) is a buff that works fairly similar to EW, EA, ES or IF, but it is twice as strong and it has a huge penalty when used with crystalline. Crystalline sets will be used more often because sets and set items are now preferred due to SH and CoorAt; and a lot of great hunting sets have been released at the end of July 2011. When having to choose between crystalline and CRune it is often crystalline that wins (except between level 500 and 574). New lay-out The next part of the guide has a different lay-out because it is much easier for me to present the guide in that format. I have listed all items and everytime one of them changes they are put in a purple-pink box in bold for your convenience. The abbreviations used are CA (Counter Attack), HF (Holy Flame), DC (Dark Curse), KE (Keen Edge), Const (Constitution), FL (Flinch), Sanc (Sanctuary), Terr (Terrorize) and Safe? (are you able to protect your imps?). The way to use them is as follows: - The CA levels mentioned are guildelines (i.e. it is not a big problem if you use CA of a few levels lower (~5 levels)); - If in the HF column it says “Yes” then the use of HF 150 is advised (if a higher level is needed then I have mentioned the level); - The level mentioned under DC is an absolute minimum so make sure you get a buff (or potion) of at least that level; - If it says “Yes” in the column KE then I advice you to use KE 165 (if a higher level is needed then I have mentioned the level); The next three columns are useful to get enough defense to protect yourself against creatures hitting back. It is not necessary to 1-hit but it keeps your Imps alive a lot longer. ☺ - The number listed under Const is an absolute minimum so make sure you get a Constitution buff (or potion) of at least that level; - If it says “Yes” in the column FL then I advice you to use Flinch 175. - If it says “Yes” in the column CD then I advice you to use Coordinated Defense 175. - The two columns after that are like the previous ones, except they tell whether you need to boost your Armor to stay safe instead of Defense. Again it is not necessary to 1-hit but it keeps your Imps alive a lot longer. ☺ - The number listed under Sanc is an absolute minimum so make sure you get a Sanctuary buff (or potion) of at least that level; - If it says “Yes” in the column Terr then I advice you to use Terrorize 175. The last column says whether you can protect your imps or not. If you use the Defense or Armor increasing buffs then your imp should be reasonably safe (remember there is always a 2% chance that your Defense doesn’t work and Armor can be defeated by Piercing Strike and Critical Hit and some creature have that.). Sometimes it is not necessary to get Defense or Armor increasing buffs because your Defense or Armor is already high enough. And sometimes it is not possible to get enough Defense or Armor so then you will have to “suicide” 1-hit your way through the creatures. It might cost 1 full imp per level then. Have fun! ☺

  • 8. Crystalline items (Spine) and Unbreakable A vital set to 1-hit from level 350 until 499 is the Octo Spine Set. Also the Green Spine Boots are very useful to get a setup with only set items (so CoorAt can be used). Using other items will result in a lot less damage. However crystalline items are a bit expensive and they cannot be repaired (i.e. they ‘break’). If you really cannot afford to buy Spine items then use the Glowing Diamond of Kozyu, Dwarf Skin Clawed Boots and Witches Catseye Shield (until level 363; from level 364 use the Pharaoh Sarcophagus Lid). In most cases you will need to use a higher CA level (approximately 80-100 points higher) and DC level (add approximately 150 to a low level DCs and 100 to high level DCs and those with KE). Trust me that buying the Octo set and Green Spine boots is nearly always the best way to go; even if you can not afford to forge it. You can even counter the loss of damage from not forging using Berserk 300 potions instead of the level 150 buff. Also Spine items can be sold after using them (so the price is mostly a temporary problem) and the fact that they can break can be solved by using the Unbreakable skill. This skill reduces durability loss of items by 0.5% per level and comes in the form of buffs (up till 175, resulting in a reduction of 87.5% in durability loss) and potions (there is a level 190 potion that reduces durability loss by 95%; it can also be increase to 200 with Distil 50 resulting in no durability loss at all!). Now the main question is: Is it better to take hits or buy the skill (and what level)? How much does a durability hit cost me? The prices for crystalline items is currently very low (nearly all Spine creatures were on the maps a few days ago). But in due time the price will probably rise to around 35 FSP for a non-forged and excellent/perfect Octo Spine Shield, 15 FSP for the Octo Spine Rune and 15 FSP for the Green Spine Boots. The items will be able to take some hits, but if they are forged then we can always sell the items if they have at least 1 durability point left to people that play the PvP Arena. This calculation assumes you do not forge them, but if you do they may sell for around 40-50 FSP in total when durability reaches 1. The price of the items divided by the durability points tells our cost of 1 durability hit. This is around 33k gold for the Octo Spine Shield, 14k gold for the Octo Spine Rune and 19k for the Green Spine Boots. So how many durability hits will we encounter during a hunt? It depends on your maximum stamina, buffs and hunting style. If you use Doubler 1200 potions you will have as little kills as possible, so you reduce the number of durability hits. Doubler 750 is a very good alternative. 1-hitting will decrease the number of rounds per combat, make you level faster and reduce the number of hunts where you will need Spine items. Furthermore, the Unbreakable skill reduces durability hits. Now to get the baseline number for durability hits, a player called RJEM has examined how many durability hits items take on an average hunt without the use of Unbreakable. There is no difference between items on which takes the durability hit so crystalline items have the same chance as any other item. On average 1 kill results in 0.52 durability hits taken, this means (with Doubler 750) there will be 1 durability hit every 30.77 stamina used. This does not automatically mean the Spine items will take those hits, but on average each item will have taken 1 hit every 9 times a durability hit occurs. On average after 276.9 stamina all Spine items will have each taken 1 hit, meaning you have ‘virtually lost’ 66k gold. Buffs and potions With Unbreakable the amount of hits can be reduced, but it has a gold price. The table on the Buff Dura. Loss Cost Per 5000 Per 3000 Buff level right shows how much it costs for a hunt with 5000 stamina. If you hunt with more stamina Cost per 276.9 stam stam stam then the potion becomes preferable; with less stamina the buffs may be better. The potion can 0 0k 66k 1192k 715k 150 10k 17k 308k 189k be distilled and turn into UB200. Because Distil is useful for other aspects I listed no price. 160 20k 13k 258k 163k Is it a viable strategy? 175 40k 8k 189k 129k For some it may seem expensive to hunt this way. This is the case if you have little maximum 190 125k 3k 185k 161k stamina. I mentioned before (the Death Dealer section) that around level 300 your breakeven 190 Distil 125k 0k 125k 125k point (when “gold earned” equals “gold spent on buffs”) will be less than 700 stamina. At level 350 this breakeven point will change due to a slighlty increased gold per kill, durability loss on the crystalline items and the cost of a Unbreakable buff or potion. To do the math: you will earn around 325 gold per stamina and you have a total cost of around 451k for buffs and durability loss (190k for most buffs (see Death Dealer section) + 40k (Unbreakable 175 buff) + 149k (durability loss)). This will result in a breakeven point at around 1166 stamina. ☺ EW, EA & Berserk potions – The next step in increasing damage It should not come as a shock when I tell you that 1-hitting has everything to do with raising your damage. This can be done by items, buffs and potions, but every solution has its price. Items cost gold to buy and forge, buffs cost stamina or gold to cast and potion cost gold to purchase. There is one buff that is central in this guide: Counter Attack. Getting the buff costs gold and the use of the buff will cost stamina, but sometimes it is the best (financial) way to go because other options have an even higher price. However, there comes a time when even I cannot resist the temptation of these potions. If you do not use potions then the required CA level will continue to rise and this will make hunting very inefficient (and makes you earn less gold with your stamina). There are some potions and buffs that can raise damage and where would I have been if I would not analyse their efficiency and cost first? ☺ Here is a list of the most relevant ones (I will often refer to the setup of level 400): Enchanted Armor 200 – Potion of Enchanted Armor. This potion will cost you about 0.8 FSP and will increase your armor’s stats with 20%. However, you normally would have bought an EA 150 buff for only a small amount of gold, so the actual increase is only 5%. Based on the Ko Lash Plate, this results in an increase of 12 attack, 22 damage and 12 armor. That is only 28 damage points per FSP. Berserk 350 – Potion of Fury. This potion increases your base damage with 70% and will cost around 0.5 FSP. But you would normally have bought the Berserk 300 potion for nearly nothing, so the increase is only 10%. Your base damage by level 400 should be around 750 or higher and thus the increase will be around 75, or 150 damage points per FSP. Enchant Weapon 1000 – Potion of Truth. This potion increases the stats of your weapon by 100% minus 15% from the EW150 you would have bought otherwise. Based on the Ko Lash Axe this increase is 634 damage points. With an average cost of 2 FSP the gain is 317 damage points per FSP. Enchant Weapon 1500 – Potion of Greater Enchant Weapon. Same story as the EW1000 potion, but here we should not compare it with EW150, but with EW1000 because we would otherwise buy that potion. So the net increase now is 50%, resulting in and extra of 317 damage points. With a price of 4-5 FSP per potion the price difference is 2.5 FSP. This is an actual increase of 127 damage points per FSP. Fury 200 – Potion of Blinding Rage. This potion increases your base damage with 20% and will cost around 1 FSP. And compared to Fury 150 the increase is only 5%. Your base damage by now should be around 750 or up and thus the increase will be around 38, or 38 damage points per FSP. Fury 350 – Potion of Incandescent Fury. This potion increases your base damage with 35% and will cost around 3 FSP. Compared to Fury 150 the increase is only 20% of 750 and thus the increase will be around 150, or 50 damage points per FSP. Smashing Hammer 175 – Level 1200 buff. Smashing Hammer gives a bonus of 8.75% of your total damage per full set you are wearing and costs around 1.5 FSP. Most setups in this guide (from level 240 onwards) consist of 2 but more often 3 or 4 sets so the increase is roughly 17.5% to 35%. Based on the level 400 setup (3 sets) it adds 2897 damage, or 1931 damage points per FSP. The EW potions are used here with the Ko Lash Axe, which is relatively low on damage compared to other weapons in this guide so the EW potions will do slightly better most of the time. Without doubt the buffs SH and CoorAt are incredibly powerful! The most useful potions are EW 1000 and Berserk 350. EW 1500 and Fury 350 are somewhat useful and EA 200 and Fury 200 are least useful. The use of EW 1000 lowers the required CA level with around 30 to 40 levels (saving you stamina and thus also gold). One drawback of this potion is the fact that it sells on AH without a maximum bid, or on the Potion Bazaar for a higher price. So make sure you have bought the potion in advance!
  • 9. From level 350 Octo Spine is used so use a high level UB buff or potion. I advise the use of Berserk 300 at level 364, 374, 377, 379, 382 and 385. Use EW 150+ from level 350 onwards. Also use EA 150+ at all levels. • 10. Level 400… Did someone say Xinderoth? ☺ Yippie! Saying “a guide would be nice here” is like saying “bringing water along with you when you go to the desert might be smart” or any other top10 understatement of the century. As I have done every quest up to this point, I will not skip any quests in Xinderoths Palace. One strategy to complete the first levels easily is to do every quest of level 350-399 without fully completing them. This can be done by starting a quest, killing the X amount of creatures you have to do, but not claim your prize yet. When you reach level 400 you go back and claim every quest reward and level up fast. I will not do this; it is a waste of stamina and I like the Xinderoth challenge. ☺ Tips You will be walking the map a LOT. So get the buff Light Foot; level 175 should be a good start. It will reduce the amount of stamina used to walk (it works a lot like the buff Conserve, but for walking instead of attacking creatures). There are several options to complete this level while doing quests. You will have to get an extra 4,788,010 XP to get to level 401. A big amount of that, 2,231,974 XP, can be gained from quests, so you will need to get 2,556,036 XP from killing creatures. But for the quests you already need to kill at least 125 creatures (and some more to get 3 specific quest item drops). If you use Doubler level 750 you will get much more than the required XP, resulting in suboptimal levelling for the last part of the map (as you will get a 20% XP penalty when you hunt below your own level). • The first option is to hunt part of the map suboptimal. Not ideal, but it is simple to do. • The second option is to begin your hunt with a low level Doubler (like level 150) and use Death Dealer, Summon Shield Imp and Counter Attack 100. A few Imps will die, but you will hunt somewhat efficient. • The third option is to begin your hunt without Doubler and Death Dealer and instead use Counter Attack level 175 to get enough damage. You will die sometimes, but you do not need a kill streak and you will not lose too much gold and XP when you die. • The fourth option is the same as the first, except you will not use Counter Attack, but instead use Wither 350 and a set up with enough defense and go hunting the creatures. I suggest using the first option. Although you will hunt suboptimal, the biggest quest and its XP reward will be the last part on this map, so most of your hunting will be done while still being level 400 and is thus optimal. You can choose to disable Doubler when you nearly reach level 401 if you want. The second option will take four times as much Imps than the first one, so it is rather expensive to use (although quite efficient). The third option will take 2 stamina per normal kill, with only the normal experience and gold: quite inefficient and thus not really my choice. The last option is much better than the third one, but I have little experience with Wither-based hunting and it the Wither potion is expensive. The next pages contain the quest guide and equipment guide followed by the big map. Equipment guide – Now what to wear? Yes, the women syndrome… Just kidding! ☺ It is very simple. With this many creatures you do not want to change suits every time you encounter a creature. Even though most creatures will be hunted sequential, some creatures like the Xinderoth Stray, Xinderoth Executioner and Xinderoth Watcher and to some extent also the Xindor Fire Breather and Contract Assassin will be hunted during most of this level. Quest guide You enter the map at (2,21). Do not start attacking creatures, but instead write down where you have found which creatures. The only creatures you should attack are the Xinderoth Stray, the Xinderoth Executioner and the Xinderoth Watcher, because they drop one quest item each. So use Find Item and Quest Finder to get them to drop it. After getting their drop stop attacking them. The key to this map is to go to a quest location, then kill first the type of creature for that quest, return to the quest location and start hunting another type of creature. Finding enough creatures of one type is crucial in efficiently completing this map. So write their locations and names down. Really do that! You can thank yourself for it later. ☺ From the starting point make your way to (2,2) is the starting location for the quest “Bite the Hand”; it is the biggest quest. Activate the quest and walk to (7,6). Enter the Xinderoth Stately Mansion and go to the next step of the quest in the middle of the room. He wants you to kill 30 Contract Assassins so hopefully you have found some before and written them down. Kill those and while (not too actively) searching for the rest of the 30 Contract Assassins, make your way to (15,3) to activate the quest “The Heat of Ambition”. It is an easy quest with a nice reward. It requires you to kill 20 Xindor Fire Breathers. You do not have to actively search for those creatures. You likely will come across enough of them when you do the rest of this guide. And keep writing down new creatures you find (and adjust your earlier writings in case someone else is hunting at the same time and has killed some creatures). Now you can do a quest without any reward (it does count for your medal though and otherwise you can not complete the other quests). Go to the Xinderoth Stately Mansion and then move on to (8,33). Here you can start one of the smaller quests called “Filthy Animals”. First, you need to get a Stray Head, which is dropped by the Xinderoth Stray. Hopefully you already got the Stray to drop it, otherwise get Quest Finder and hunt some Xinderoth Strays. Now go to Ullthurs Preserves (1,38) and give the Stray Head. Then head over to Fresh Sprig (4,27) and buy Seaple Wort. Now bring it to Ullthurs Preserves and finally go back to (8,33) to claim your ‘reward’… I hope your list of creature locations is getting substantial by now. Now walk to the Xinderoth Hall (18,34) to activate the quest “Festival Revelers”. You have to kill 25 Angry Drunks, of which some are already be on your written list of creatures. Go get them! ☺ After claiming your prize for the Festival Revelers quest go to Stoneroot Engineering (36,25) to start the quest “Lead Astray”. Now walk to (30,13) and then hunt 20 Ogre Labourers. Go back to (30,13) and then walk to the Purple Dragon Inn (30,4). Finally claim your reward at Stoneroot Engineering (36,25). Now is the time to finish the rest of the Bite the Hand quest, because the other quests have unlocked certain rooms. While going to the Xinderoth Stately Mansion (7,6) you may want to visit (15,3) in case you have not yet fully completed the “The Heat of Ambition” quest, but have killed the 20 Xindor Fire Breathers (if you have not killed all 20 just do so while also hunting the two creatures I will introduce in a few lines). When you arrive at the Xinderoth Stately Mansion (7,6) go forward to the Xinderoth Chamber through the Xinderoth Stately Hall. Now you get the green light to hunt 15 Xindor Bear Tamers. Hopefully you have some on your written list. After successfully hunting them go back to the Xinderoth Chamber (7,6) where you are asked to kill 15 Xinderoth City Guards. After killing them head back to the Xinderoth Chamber (7,6) again. There you will be told to get a Xinderoth Death Key, which you should have by now (remember hunting the Xinderoth Executioners?). Then go to the Xinderoth Death Row, by going through the Xinderoth City Keep (15,8).

  • 12. Did someone say Xinderoth? – Part 2 I will first give you the quest guide and then the equipment guide. Now that you have reached level 401 you must be realising that you still have 20 levels to go, but do not worry: less difficult quests and you may kill all creatures you encounter. ☺ Always get Light Buff. Most maps are sparsely populated with creatures and some quests require a lot of walking. Quest Guide 401 First get a good Find Item buff and a Quest Finder. Head to (18,31) to start the quest. Remember the Xinderoth Watcher you hunted at level 400? It dropped a Summoning Seal. Hand it over and hunt your way to level 402. When you reach level 402 go to (16,15) to show the Xind Crystal that the Decapoid by now should have dropped. Then walk to (2,7) to exchange the crystal for another one. Return to (18,31) to claim your reward. 402 Head to (15,29) to start the quest. Kill 25 Xinderoth Friars and return to the location afterwards. You now will be able to enter the Sanctum of Doth (22,8). Within the Sanctum of Doth go to (2,9) to claim the reward and keep the Shard until you activate the level 403 quest. Here are more creatures so hunt until you reach 403. 403 Also get a good Find Item buff and a Quest Finder and hunt all you want. Head to (10,10) to start the quest. Get the Laughing Fiend to drop the Orb of Chaos and bring it to (10,10). Then walk to the Circle of the Fiend (2,18) and within the Circle of the Fiend go to (2,2) and complete the quest and keep this Shard until you activate the 404 quest. Since here are a few more creatures hunt until you reach 404. 404 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (12,18) to start the quest. The Xinderoth Anchorite will eventually drop the Doth Blade, which you have to bring back to (12,18). Now go to these locations in this order: (27,19), (2,22), (16,27), (12,18) and (11,18). Keep this Shard until you activate the 406 quest and hunt until you reach 405. 405 Head to (2,32) to start the quest. Hunt a lot of Citadel Slimes and when you reach level 406 go to (17,16) and get the reward. 406 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (14,13) to start the quest. Hunt the Xinderoth Cenobite and bring the drop Cenobite Spell Focus to (14,13). Hand it over at (13,22), go to the Golem Workshop (2,16), inside get your reward at (9,2) and keep the Shard until the level 409 quest. Hunt until you reach level 408. The Golem Workshop has a bit more creatures. 408 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (13,24) to start the quest and hunt Opticor Guards to get them to drop a Tainted Xind Shard. Hand it over at (13,24) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 409. 409 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (16,16) to start the quest and hunt Void Beings to get them to drop a Void Essence. Hand it over at (16,16), then claim your reward at (2,22) and keep the shard until you activate the level 411 quest. Hunt until you reach level 410. 410 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (14,11) to start the quest and hunt Exalted Xindors to get them to drop a Fake Eye. Hand it over at (14,11) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 411. 411 Head to (1,13) to start the quest and hunt 24 Theorems and return to (1,13). Then go to the Theorem Barracks (13,3), within the Theorem Barracks go to (10,4) and start hunting 50 Enhanced Theorems. Finally return to Theorem Barracks (10,4), then go to (2,2) within the Chamber of the Theorem (1,7) and keep the shard until the level 413 quest. Hunt until you reach level 412. 412 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (12,22) to start the quest and hunt Xind Warriors to get them to drop a Xinderoth Vault Key. Head to (9,9) to start the quest and hunt Xinderoth Sarabaite (Champion) until they drop an Adventurers Compass. Hand it over at (9,9) to complete the quest. Hunt until you reach level 416. To beat the champion you can wear the Crushing Fist and Opticor sets together with the Helm of Dagoresh, the Pharaoh shield and the Argus Boots and use Constitution 250 and Dark Curse. 416 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (13,11) to start the quest and hunt Xind Puppeteers to get them to drop a Xind Core. Hand it over at (13,11), then go to (2,7) within the Puppeteers Sanctum (11,5) to complete the quest and keep the shard until the third level 419 quest. Hunt until you reach level 417. 417 First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (6,16) to start the quest and hunt Citadel Constructs until they drop Xind Spheres. Hand it over at (6,16) to complete the quest. First head to (2,4) to start the first quest and hunt Glass Maidens to get them to drop a Glass Maiden Mask. Hand it over at (2,4) to complete the quest. The second quest on this map can not be started until you are level 420 and it requires an item from the third quest, so go to the start location which can be reached by going through Xinderoth Corridor 1 (7,6), then to the Hall of Heartache (8,2) and to the location at (11,3). Keep the Xinderoth Scepter. Now hunt until you reach level 420 while heading towards (3,9) in the Citadel of Xinderoth (Floor 19) and when you reach level 420 enter it. 420a First get a good Find Item buff and Quest Finder. Head to (9,13) to start the quest and hunt Eyes of Xinderoth until they drop a Xind Prism. Hand it over at (9,13) to complete the quest and go back to (11,14) to enter Citadel of Xinderoth (Floor 19) again. 419b Now go to (11,10) to start and finish the second quest and go to the Xinderoth Corridor 2 at (11,9) and on to the Chamber of Xinderoth at (2,1). 420b Head to (15,13) to start the quest and kill a Xinderoth Master of Magic (Elite) (you may need some good buffs (Constitution, SK, SA, DW, SSI, etc.) and a small group with lots of defense and attack). Now hunt until you reach level 421 and make your way to (15,13). This time go to the Xinderoths Library at (10,6), then head to the Palace of Xinderoth (6,9), find Xinderoth (Super Elite) and kill it (with a large group, really good buffs and definitely SES). Now that Xinderoth is dead you can get out that insanely large citadel. And Xinderoths bedroom was deep into his citadel… Go back to Xinderoths Library at (14,16), then to Chamber of Xinderoth (Floor 20) at (2,10), Xinderoth Corridor 2 at (15,14), further on to Citadel of Xinderoth at (Floor 19) (2,8) and then to Citadel of Xinderoth (Floor 20) (3,9). Before you finally go to the Empty Plains (North) at (1,13) one crucial warning: put on sunglasses! Now that you have left the citadel the sun is likely to blind your eyes. Be glad you are wearing those sunglasses. ☺
