Another 1st from ECCI and APEX Global! A 1st in the Philippines!!!
The curriculum includes scheduling, dependencies, resource planning, risk management, progress tracking,
vendor/MRO management and other critical path topics. Typically, aviation projects are large and cross-functional
including MROs and other vendors. The Project Manager usually does not have direct reports and must therefore influence people and use leadership to gain stakeholder trust and commitment. Several techniques are taught for building teamwork and sustained momentum with cross-functional and third party stakeholders, all of whom have competing priorities.
At the conclusion of this course participants will have added project planning, tracking, team-building, and
leaderships to their skills as well as detailed installation planning knowledge on NGS and on-board Wifi.

Managing Structured aircraft Modification ProjectS
Program overview
Typically we focus on hands-on Engineering and installation challenges rather than taking a top-down view of an
entire installation and planning accordingly. As a result, we are often unable to keep to the scheduled timeline
causing expensive delays in returning our airplanes to service and cost over-runs. The bulk of the cost of a
modification lies in the time the aircraft is out of service, not in the money spent on parts and labor. We have
a valuable asset depreciating while at the same time it is not generating revenue.
Schedule:
This course includes workshops on pre-prototype and installation planning from project inception to “airplane
in the hangar” for both these new products:
● Garden Hotel,
Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia
• Nitrogen Generating System (NGS), Fuel Tank Inerting System (FTIS), and
• Onboard Wifi (in-flight wireless internet for customers).
Installation and components of the above products are discussed in detail but not at part number level, nor are
detailed engineering issues addressed during this course..
The US FAA mandated NGS several years ago and the first deadline will come 12/26/14, so all US carriers are
working with urgency. In Europe, airlines are not yet retrofitting airplanes with NGS and FTIS but all new aircraft
are being delivered with the products installed. Asian airlines in Singapore, Japan, and China have already
begun retrofitting NGS and FTIS on their fleets in anticipation of the awaited update from local government
Aviation organizations.
