5. PERSONA
Deepa
Age: XX
Job Title: IT Human Resources
Deepa and her partner are busy professionals who live in the inner west
of Sydney. Deepa currently works from home, while her partner goes
out to work. They don’t have kids, but do have a much loved new
puppy. Their families live close by so they see each family at least once
or twice a fortnight. They have lots of friends and love going out for
dinner and drinks.
Favourite Things
• Sam, her partner
• Cooking and TV cooking shows
• Addictive TV series
• Darcy, the new puppy
• Yoga
• Sophisticated fashion brands like Pilgrim and Moleskin diaries
6. NEEDS & PAIN POINTS
"ʺBecause I work at home I tend to do more of
the household chores, so I’d like to organise the
sharing of tasks a bit beRer.
“For example, we both love to cook, but I
forget to ask him if he wants to cook that night
and so just launch in and do my thing, when
really he might like to do it!
“We also sometimes make double bookings of
friend and family events. We had a disaster
once where he went out to something and took
the car keys without leRing me know and he
had to come back home to give me the keys!”
7. CURRENT BEHAVIOUR
Currently, Deepa uses Notes and iCal on her iPhone to
plan the weekly shopping and social activities.
She likes to quickly type recipes on TV cooking shows
into Notes on the mobile, and then refers to these when
out shopping for ingredients. If her partner is doing the
shopping, she’ll email the Notes recipe to him to refer to.
Deepa finds the Notes apps the simplest “go to” app for
this because you don’t have to bother with signing in.
She tends to set alarms in iCal for a To Do, rather than
creating a formal To Do. She and her partner use SMS to
communicate during the day because, unlike email, the
message is sure to be seen and responded to!
8. THE PROBLEM
“When it comes to household tasks, my partner
and I don’t know who’s doing what. We also
often forget to share social arrangements that
each other has made until the last minute.
“I wish there was a way we
could co-‐‑ordinate more
easily.”
9. USER GOAL
To share household chores and events with
love and respect, not stress.
DESIGN CONCEPT
