Project Details:
[1]Project Title: Symbol Wireless LAN Driver test of L2/L3 protocols, Push to Talk, VOIP for enterprise PDA’s
running on Android, Win CE, WM using Test Quest Automation tool and Python scripting.
Description: Symbol’s mobile computers Support 802.11 a/b/g and n functionality with latest security features like
Pre-WPA, WPA, WPA2 and other protocols like all EAP, PEAP, LEAP and TTLS with AES, TKIP and
MIXEDMODE encryption. The functional cum integration tests were carried out by testing them on different types of
infrastructure like Symbol, Cisco wireless switches and different types of RADIUS servers like NPS, SBR and Cisco
Secure ACS. VPN and RSA were tested on IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
Test bed also includes 6 RF chambers each chamber having 5 Drifter boxes, switches, controllers, AP’s and a capture
network. Capture network includes a Cisco 4402 controller with 4 Sniffer LAP’s, Omni Engine and Omni peek as
packet analyzers to capture wireless and wired packets.
Test Quest is used to simulate tests like: Stress-Roaming (Extreme, Gradual, Sporadic, Rapid/Panic), Association,
Roaming, Regulatory - 802.11d & country tests, Fast Roam (PMKID, OKC, Pre-Auth, CCKM, Fast BSS, Move-OP),
Signal Strength, Out of Range, Inter-band Roam and channel tests.
Python script is used for – Test Quest Set-up, NTP time Sync, Power OFF/ON AP’s and Switches, upload config file
via Telnet, configure SSID, band selection (2.4 GHZ/5 GHZ), and channel selection on AP etc, File-cleanup, pings.
[2] Project Title: Throughput and feature tests of Symbol Access points using Veriwave-Ixia and Spirent Avalanche.
Description: Throughput tests for access points are done for all supported rate selection, channel bandwidth and frame
sizes in L2/L3 adoption mode with Bridge mode Tunnel & IP-sec for radio types – 802.11ac, 11an and 11bgn. Feature
tests like Max client connections, VOIP Traffic performance, ORLA, ORLA-MESH connection and Roaming were
tested using TCL scripts.
[3] Project Title: GSM/GPRS, GPS and Bluetooth Radio
Description: All features and functions of WAN voice, WAN data, GPS were tested. Bluetooth services and features
supported by Stone street and Microsoft stacks were tested. Engineering tests for RF and battery measurements were
done with Agilent 8960 wireless comm test set. The system was vigorously tested for GPRS throughput, handover and
multipath fading. The tool used for this is Agilent tool kit and General Dynamics RT2660 simulator.
[4] Project Title: Profiler Test Automation
Description: Profiler is a tool that can simulate selected user interactions on enterprise PDA’s running on Android,
Windows CE and Windows Mobile devices, in order to measure battery consumption. Profiler is configured using an
XML script, in which the necessary operations can be specified. It supports radios such as Bluetooth, WLAN, WWAN,
GPS and RFID. It can stress modules like Barcode scanners, Display, Camera ext. The tool is extensively used for
power measurements, stress and performance tests and to calculate memory leaks.
[5] Project Title: Enterprise Mobility Developer Kit (EMDK)
Description: This Package is provided to Customer’s of Symbol handheld computers. It consists of libraries and
header files which expose underlying symbol specific APIs like barcode scanning, WLAN, Bluetooth, Audio, Display
ect which otherwise are not available for customer for use in his own applications. This product comes in different
flavors like EMDKfor C, Java and .Net.

Project Description: The SH-Mobile middleware software was developed using Embedded C for Device drivers, Base
band, Multimedia and Codec. The product implements a Hitachi dual processor cutting edge technology to provide an
enhanced performance for Base band and Multimedia applications. The product provides an enhanced multimedia and
graphics support for SH-Mobile based mobile handsets. Its SDK architecture consists of 2 subsystems:
• Base band solution: This platform uses an independent processor to handle baseband applications like
Transmitting/Receiving of calls and data (IP packets).It provides services like RPC client/server stubs,
Remote file transfer layer, Virtual socket layer. It includes and manages components like MFI Comms, OS
Abstraction layer, Keypad drivers, and File system.
• SH-Mobile reference platform: This platform uses an independent processor to handle Multimedia and
Codec applications like Audio, Video, and display. It provides services like RPC client/server stubs, Graph
Managers, Codec, Audio Video network protocols, 2D and 3D graphics. It includes and manages
components like MFI Comms, IOIF, Multimedia API, Codec API, Codec, Device drivers, File system, OS
Abstraction layer.
• There is a Comm stack between the BB and SH platforms to provide enhanced and high speed
communication of signals between them.

Project Description: Vodafone is one of the world’s biggest and rapid expanding mobile network services around the
globe. We are testing Vodafone live website “www.vodafone.co.uk”. This website has many servers and databases
across the globe communicating with each other. The Vodafone website helps the user to purchase their products,
subscribe their required price plans, Registration process, Billing Systems. Sony is one of the worlds biggest consumer
electronics company, the Sony Network services (SNS) provide Vodafone subscribers an additional feature of Music
Subscription, Music Streaming, and Music Downloads for Registered Vodafone network customers on both PC and
Mobiles.

[3] Project Title: Philips Streamline Audio
Client Philips Innovation Centre, Bangalore
Platform C - White box test
Project Description: The Philips Streamline Audio is software developed using Embedded C for Philips audio
products. The software is designed to have the following features-
• FM-Tuner: The tuner tunes to all the audio channels in the FM range with manual/ auto tune feature and can
store up to 100 channels.
• Recording: It has 2 types of recording-Mic & Line in.
• Image Decompression (decoding of image): The device has a built-in image decoder, which performs the
decoding of JPEG image, and displays it on the 65,000-colour LCD display screen.
• Touch-Pad: The device has LED (Blue disco lights) Touch pad for user interaction with device.
• Playback/Equalizer/Bass Boost: It can playback the audio files in any of the Equalizer modes, with adjustable
bass levels.
• Track Security: It has DRM track security & Quick Lock for audio files.
• Data Storage: It has a built in hard disk that can store any data, media, and non-media files up to 30 GB from
PC using USB.
The Philips Jukebox is a new range of entertainment products in consumer electronics that is very small and portable.
The portable device contains all features of devices like Apple-I pod, Creative-Zen, I river etc, and are built to the
performance of their standards.

Project Description: The Div-x is an embedded player that was developed for playback of MPEG files. It was
designed to-
• Encode the input file frame by frame till the maximum compression ratio was achieved. It also produced a
high quality and high performance encoded output file.
• Decode the input file (encoded file) with its original characteristics and produce a high quality output file.
• Div-x embedded player which plays the output file with functions like playback, Fast forward, fast rewind ,
pause, recording(clipping),volume ect.

[5] Project Title: RADAR SIMULATOR

Platform 87C51-Microcontroller Assembly Language
Project Description: AN EMBEDDED MICROCRONTROLLER PROJECT, it uses an 87C51 micro controller that is
programmed:
• To generate heading and bearing signals
• To calculate and display initial and width sector angles.
• To generate stationary and moving targets.
Antenna of Radar mounted on the Ship, continuously rotates sending/receiving high power signals
known as bearing or azimuth pulses. The numbers of these pulses are decoded to identify the angle of the target with
respect to the ships head. Here we simulate the operations of the radar and also generate targets.

Sony is one of the worlds biggest consumer electronics company, the Sony Network services (SNS) provide Vodafone subscribers an additional feature of Music Subscription, Music Streaming, and Music Downloads for Registered Vodafone network customers on both PC and Mobiles. It was designed to- • Encode the input file frame by frame till the maximum compression ratio was achieved. It also produced a high quality and high performance encoded output file. • Decode the input file (encoded file) with its original characteristics and produce a high quality output file. • Div-x embedded player which plays the output file with functions like playback, Fast forward, fast rewind , pause, recording(clipping),volume ect. [5] Project Title: RADAR SIMULATOR Client BEL, NAVAL TEST SYSTEM , BANGALORE Platform 87C51-Microcontroller Assembly Language Project Description: AN EMBEDDED MICROCRONTROLLER PROJECT, it uses an 87C51 micro controller that is programmed: • To generate heading and bearing signals • To calculate and display initial and width sector angles. • To generate stationary and moving targets. Antenna of Radar mounted on the Ship, continuously rotates sending/receiving high power signals known as bearing or azimuth pulses. The numbers of these pulses are decoded to identify the angle of the target with respect to the ships head. Here we simulate the operations of the radar and also generate targets.
