2. Introduction The task we are going to be doing is moving image. We have chosen this task because we preferred filming and have bigger variety to play with.
3. Film… Genre: Horror/Drama Girl is at a friends party and someone spikes her drink. She finds herself waking up in a forest not knowing what happened the night before. We got our idea from several different clips. The party scene was inspired by ‘Veronica Mars’ and ‘Sorority Row’. The forest scene was inspired by the opening scene of ‘Lost’. We chose these two clips because they stood out the most to us and we thought we could merge them together to create our own idea for an opening.
4. Audience… Target audience: teenagers. Gender: Mainly Girls Lifestyle: Girls who like to go out and who like to watch horrors and dramas that they can relate too. Why: Sending out a serious message to teenagers to keep an eye on their drinks. Representation: We want the main character to seem vulnerable to the audience.
5. Idea... Opening: A girl gone to a party with some friends. Her and her best friend fall out with each other and the best friend drugs her drink trying to get back at her not knowing that she’ll get kidnapped. She finds herself waking up in the forest with her clothes muddy and ripped. Rest of Movie: After her best friend realised that she’s missing, she tracks her down and the kidnapper kills her. Eventually the girl manages to escape but it turns out that she’s pregnant and a year later he comes back and kills her friends one by one to get to her and her baby.
6. Title... Open up with the production name which is ‘Sibian Productions’. The name of our film is ‘Snatched’. We have chosen this as the name for our film because it’s relevant to the storyline.
7. Sound AND Music... Party music in party scene and digetic sounds. Music changes mid scene and becomes more intense as she gets drugged unknowingly. Eerie music when she wakes up in forest. This represents her confusion. The music reflects the atmosphere and mood.
8. Representation... Camera Angles and Mise-en-scene: beginning we will have a mid shot of her walking through the crowd at the party. Then when she wakes up, we will have a extreme close up on her eyes and zoom out while she’s waking up. This shows us that the setting is different to the beginning of this opening. Setting: at a party and the woods. Editing: we will edit the mid shot to a blur of her walking through the crowd to make it represent her being drugged. Costume: party clothes, messed up and ripped in forest scene.
