21. SOCIAL PHOTOS
Flickr does have some restrictions, but the site has
different rules for the different types of accounts it
offers. For free basic accounts, you can upload
photo files up to 10 megabytes in size — and you
can upload 100 megabytes of photos each month.
Free account pages display the 200 pictures most
recently uploaded.
If you paid $25 a year for a Flickr Pro account, you
don’t have to worry about exceeding a monthly
space allotment. Pro accounts can upload an
unlimited amount of files. Pro account holders can
upload photo files up to 20 megabytes in size.
Both types of accounts also let you upload video
clips of 90 seconds or less. Free accounts can
upload two videos a month. Pro account holders
can upload an unlimited number of videos
(including high-definition clips), but the video files
must be smaller than 500 megabytes in size.

27. FACEBOOK Settings
1. Don't be overwhelmed
2. Turn off emails
Settings > Notifications
Turn on & off all or any notifications
"Show more"
"Poke me" - no
I may leave on "Send me a message." - So I get notified when someone send me an email.
Notifications also are on the right bottom of the screen
Photos - Do you want to know when you are tagged or some one tags your photos
3. Applications
Blocking apps
Video Applicaiton
Status Update -okay for me
Settings > Notifications
Personal invites
Groups - limit & only join your passion
If so and so sends you so many requests and spams you you can click on, "Ignore all requests from so and so."
In this way, you have more control than email PUSHES. You only PULL into FACEBOOK what you want to.
Just because a face you know is in a photo does not mean it is coming from a friend.
"BLOCK this application" - forever
"Ignore All" - on top right hand corner if you want.
27
28. A FACEBOOK PROFILE is off limit to Companies and Non-Profit Organizations.
√ If you have a profile which means you have friends instead of a FACEBOOK PAGES with
fans or a FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE with members. If you do so you are in violation of
Facebook's "Terms of Service."
√ Your own personal FACEBOOK PROFILE is okay.
√ If you want a community and want to communicate a lot with a community, choose a
FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE.
√ Here's where you can interact as much as you want with your group because they have opted
in to do so. Rule of the thumb,
√ If you have a lot of time and you want to build a community around your presence on FB
chose a group.
√ FACEBOOK “Like” Page.
√ Organic community around liking something but don't bug folks too much.
√ When people “Like” something they do not want it to be turned into email PUSH on FB.
√ Anyone can “Unlike” or HIDE you if you bug them too much.
28
29. Messaging: Group/Like/Page
With FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE - you can send a messages
directly to a member's personal FB messages and also goes to
regular email. You can do so with FB Group. This works well for
active membership activities. √ Note: These direct messages are
more likely to be read.
FACEBOOK “Like” pages you can send a message as an
"Update to Fans" Hidden behind an link called UPDATES,
hard to see. Without clicking there people don't see your update
messages unless they want to. Go into FB messages then click
on UPDATES link on left hand side of page. “Like” has
changed this.
√ Note: These messages are more likely to be ignored.
FB Messages > UPDATES
29
30. Invitations: Group/Like/Page
GROUP PAGES - Group members can easily invite other
members with the invitation going directly into their messages.
bottom line: It is easier for those who like your FB presence,
you are not annoying them, to recommend it to friends.
LIKE/Community PAGES - “Like” of FB Pages, however,
can only "suggest" a page which doesn't allow for adding a
personal message to their friends.
The "suggestion" can also be hard to see. They only appear if
the receiver clicks on or scrolls down to "Page Suggestions"
under their "Friends Suggestions" and "Event Invitation."
Can show up in email, but tend to be a bit SPAMMY (if they
haven't turned off that invitations.
30
31. Exclusivity: : Group/Like/Page
√ If you want any privacy choose a group
because you can have private or secret groups.
√ Private Group - Invitation only or approval to
join
√ Secret - Entirely invitation only. Like an
exclusive membership. Hidden from view by
anyone not in the group.
31
32. PRIVACY: : Group/Like/Page
• FB Group organizers & officers, if you chose to add
them, are viewable by all members of the group.
• FB Pages allow admin to be hidden. Understand that as long
as you are an admin to a PAGE you cannot post to the PAGE as
yourself. It will always show up as the company or
organization's brand.
√ If you want a BRAND to show up choose FB PAGES.
√ If you want to show up choose FB GROUP.
32
33. GROWTH: Group/Like/Page
Like PAGE - Manageable. Purpose is
about finding out more information.
Some interaction. Showing support for a
brand.
Community PAGES - New type of FB
page.
GROUP - Building a Community on FB!
Discussions encouraged.
33
34. VISABLITY: Group/Like/Page
FB PAGES accessible by everyone, even
people who are not members of FB, just
online.
√ Greater general visibility.
√ Like Pages more community interaction.
√ Groups can be more private & only on FB.
34
35. Facebook: Group Page/ Like Page /
Community Page/
√ Robust Community get a group.
Time to cultivate and manage.
√ If for info only for info Like a page.
√ Company or organization - get a FB Page.
√ Community Page - Open to community to
contribute

1. Get to know folks who can help you with your website & let them know
if you intend to update it.You may need to pay a bit more to set it up this
way, as well as for some lessons in how to do this, but well worth it. Budget,
trade,.... for it.
2. Make sure your website is integrated with social networking tools. this is
a great way to update lots of your information automatically.
3. In addition to free blogging tools like Wordpress, Tumblr, Blogger,
Posterous,... there are free tools & platforms out there to put up your
website.
