Well I have conducted so may weddings in my life time I thought you might like to see some of my Thinking....

1. Covenant making Covenant
breaking

2. In the formal words of the
wedding ceremony:
 ‘I, take you,
to be my wife/husband,
to have and to hold
from this day forward;
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
till death us do part'

3. In old version it says after we have
given our Vows to each other
 And therefore I plight
thee my troth
 Or a more modern
version which we just
used
 and therefore I give you
my Solemn Promise.
What that really is, is a
Covenant.

4. God is, was and still is very
interested in Covenants
 The Bible is full of them, covenants with Israel,
Abraham, David, and people like you and me if we
want to get into Covenants with God – He has made a
way for us to do so.
 Some of the covenants that God Makes are mutual like
you do this I will do that
 Some are covenants that don’t require us to do
anything except say that’s great thank you
 Our adoption as Sons in to His family, is one of those
one sided ones God does it all we just say thank you I
want to be part of your family.

5. Our current world and culture
 Is one where we don’t take promises, our word, and
covenants seriously. We break them very easily, and
having given solemn promises we try and forget that
we did and move on.
 Actually that is very damaging to society, to us as
individuals, to our children and the future generations
and most of all God defiantly does not like it.

6. Marriage the best kind is a three
some
 God in the centre
 God helping us in our love
 God helping us in keeping our promises
 God changing our thinking so we think and act right to
each Other.
 God enriching our marriage – anyway it was His Good
Idea.
 The Bible talks about Leaving – Cleaving –
 The Bible talks about Mutual support protection and
help for one another

7. I hope our Prayer is for this to be a God enriched
Marriage, one that both parties keep their word made
today before this company and God himself.

8. God make you...help you to be...
 a covenant keeping
 promise keeping
 loving
 Kind
 couple.
