  1. English key ideas : This map shows what geographic data are necessary and required for Weastflows (not only for Action 1). The table of content (at the left) lists the layers displayed on the map (according to the datacatalog published in march) If we can load the networks (road, railways, waterways from the Open Street Map, a communautary free GIS dataset), we need the validation of the partner for their area of interest (European / Regional level, freight use, attributes) we need especially the nodes – because they are not present in Open Street Map, with their identification (name); localisation and classification (port, rail, other intermodal node) We did not success to collect a usable TEN-T GIS dataset Commentaire français : Général Liste des couches à gauche / table des matières / cf. GIS Data Catalog – Dictionnary Aperçu à droite à l’échelle 1/8 million Ce jeu d’essai a été réalisé courant mai et confié à TUDOR le 15/06 ; il est en cours de maintenance pour une nouvelle livraison à TUDOR et aux autres partenaires intéressés par le GIS (aux alentours du 20/07) A propos de la couche des nœuds intermodaux Il s’agit de la couche métier Weastflows, absente d’OSM et apportée par les partenaires ou des sources expertes comme le portail AGORA… Cette information est ventilée dans les différentes couches des nœuds logistiques : Ports, Airports, Railway Stations, et Other intermodal nodes Il manque les nœuds intermodaux pour une grande partie du Royaume-Uni (attente de données IFS) Les nœuds intermodaux allemands (anneaux verts) doivent être ventilés : (transfert en ports des « Hafen ») Il y a trop de nœuds intermodaux pour LOOM : manque une hiérarchisation / discrimination (international / other)

English key ideas : The atlas will be produced according two scales : the macro (previous slide) and the mezzo level (useful for the gateways areas, the local and regional authorities) Insister sur : useful for the gateways areas, the local and regional authorities The information has to be separated, between global and regional level. We can help us for that ! For example, the warehousing are not necessary at the european scale, minor lines are displayed, etc. All the information provided by the partners is kept. Commentaire français : Reprise de la maquette de Lucile réalisée pour le meeting A1-A2 du 11.06 dernier avec quelques très légères adaptations graphiques A partir : des données OpenStreetMap des données apportées par LOOM via la plateforme ArcGIS online d’un fond de carte topographique d’ESRI il a été possible de réaliser cette maquette : échelle 1/500 000ème, ici à 50% env. -> 1/1 millionnième avec des réseaux plus complet (échelle mezzo) : Road Link, Railway Link, Inland Waterway Link une classification des ports (main, avec ou sans connexion rail) l’ajout de la couche rail terminal (frêt) renseignée par le partenaire l’ajout de la couche « warehousing » apportée par le partenaire (pas nécessaire à l’Action 1)
  3. English key ideas : The North West Europe cross 7 countries ; It was choosen to work in sub areas in order to facilitate the data collecting processand the data control. Each partner considered as referent for his area of interest. The project must consider also the area uncovered by an area of interest (minimal information required i.e european level) Unfortunately, the geographic information is not available at the European level; the AURH team was not able to obtain GIS data from the European Commission (the TEN-T data are missing) Mistake from Europe : we don’t unterstand : any solution exist ? Pour les espaces non couverts par les aires d’intérêt (Irlande du Nord, Ouest anglais, ouest et centre France, une partie de l’Allemagne), il sera nécessaire: De proposer une information a minima pour garantir la continuité de l’information En travaillant par Etat pour échanger avec les partenaires

English key ideas : Some flexible and various solutions were proposed in order to contribute (Contribution or « Collaboration mode ») By providing directly GIS data, with Excel file (GPS coordinates as TUDOR) with the ArcGIS online tools (LOOM, UNI-DUE and soon iTrans) or with a relevant documentation (SEStran, MWRA). Netherlands, South England, Center England, East England have not found a collaboration mode. Center and South England : a solution will be found with the IFS East England : SEStran? Netherlands : who is the partner involved? Besoin surtout d’information géographique métier : les nœuds intermodaux (ports maritimes et fluviaux, gare de frêt, plateformes, terminaux), secondairement identification des principales voies dédiées au frêt. At European scale, we need the same granulometry (the same density) For example, the intermodal nodes are completely missing for the Netherlands and the UK (exception for LOOM Area of interest). We are actually working on the railways and waterways network. Roads : 122 902 links (NWE) – 1 336 sections TEN-T (cumul : 59 426 kms) Railways : 1 992 links (UK) – 2 024 sections TEN-T (cumul : 7 201 kms) Inland Waterways : 1 353 links (Nord France and Benelux) – 219 sections TEN-T (cumul : 12 941 km)

English key ideas : 1 - The geographic information is added and formatted for mapping 1 - This process is on going, but the basic data have to be present for the atlas 2 - With these formatted layers, the parameters of the dynamic mapping can be set 2 - Several maps templates are fixed 2-3 - A first atlas can be displayed or printed 3 – It is the best media to validate the geographic information: by layer or by area of interest The next deliverables , as the « infrastructure assessment report » and the building of the database can go on.
