Create Relation Types:
The two obvious types of business relations are Customer and
Vendor. Suggestions for other relation types include New,
Imported, Prospect, Sales Lead, Competitor, or Partner.

5. Connecting Employees with User ID
An employee and a user are different. An employee might have
access to the system. A user definitely has access to the system.

Employees are not required to be connected to a user ID.
For example:
• An employee no longer with the company
• An employee in a position where access to Microsoft Dynamics AX
is not required

7. Setup Procedures:
Converting Business Relation:
- Convert any relation type to another except Customers & Vendors.
-The conversion to a customer must be done when the business
relation accepts a quotation.
-Using the Convert to customer or Convert to vendor from Functions
button on the Business relations form.
8. Setup Procedures:
Synchronizing Customer/Vendor Tables:
-Used for transfer data in the customer and vendor tables to the
Business relations form.
By The Following:
1- Create new customer in customer details form in AR.
2- Select the customer & Open Global Address Book.
(From the left side of customer details form)
3- Click Setup button and select “Business Relation”
4- Create new “Business Relation” & select Relation Type Prospect, Not Customer.
(Note: Functions > Convert to customer is disabled)
5- To convert from “Prospect” to “Customer” type, make any changes in the customer
details form.
(This will synch relation type , Ex: Change the language in customer details)

The Business relations form connects to the Relations table, Customer table, and Vendor table using a three number series: • Relation number • Customer number • Vendor number
Segments, Sub-segments, and Sales Districts set data criteria for analysis based on the company's perceptions and needs.
Global address book: A centralized table holding names for all party master data records (customer, vendor, employee, etc.) in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
