2. A seasoned traveler who demonstrated an
appreciation for beautiful pottery and authentic local
cuisine, Nancy Cameros acquired 300 international
cookbooks over the course of 40 years. Although
some of the cookbooks are in the native language of
the country where they were found, Cameros had no
problem adapting them for her American kitchen.
Before her passing in 2010, Nancy arranged a new
home for the cookbooks at
Cornell University’s Nestlé Library, a part of the School
of Hotel Administration. The books were put on display
at the library for two months before joining more than
4,000 cookbooks that are part of the Nestlé collection.
The cookbooks are now available for use, fulfilling
Cameros’ desire to have them used by anyone with an
interest in food.
3. Cultural liaisons and world travelers, Alan and
Nancy Cameros were accomplished collectors
