Recommendation for Alec Pollard
Alec Pollard was a research assistant of mine in the spring of 2014. His responsibilities
included recruiting research participants, collecting the data in sessions with the participants,
and performing assorted administrative tasks related to preparing materials and providing the
participants with course credits. In addition, as he became my research assistant as part of a
“guided research” course, he wrote a paper reflecting on the theory and execution of the
research.
Alec was very responsible and showed clear and practical thinking. He not only was able to
organize and perform the research efficiently, but his paper showed good critical,
constructive thinking and the seriousness with which he took his responsibilities. He took a
wide view of his involvement in the research, taking initiative, and he was pleasant to work
with. Beyond performing the work tasks, he impressed me as personable, thoughtful, and
considerate. I recommend highly him for any position that requires initiative in
accomplishing tasks and interacting with people.
Sincerely,
