Japan Auction - What Happens Within Car Auctions
Auction is the act of selling and buying goods in a public place where the goods are sold to the
highest bidder. Auctions are popular amongst goods that are either gold, antiques or unique
items that are rarely a sight today. But these process is not limited to rare items only. They can
also be done with used cars - cars that are either junked or sold by the owner. Some cars are
still in their good condition while others have been damaged slightly in the interior and exterior.
The most sought after used cars are the ones sold in Japan auction because of the low
mileage, good quality and fuel efficiency.
Generally all auctions functions the same but with slight
differences depending on the auction sites. Today auctions are
taken to the internet where anyone can be an active bidder
anywhere around the world. The sold goods are then sent to the
buyer via shipment. Japan auction has regulations when it
comes to auctioning cars which are stated below.
l Japan auction only allows its own members to bid on their
cars. Outsiders are not allowed unless they want to be a
member.
l The person who wants to become a member must have its own business registered in
Japan with property as their collateral. They must also have a guarantor who is a
Japanese citizen that has their own property as well.
l Members can then sign up for online auction sites if they are from far from the auction
sites. It is less likely for members to visit the actual auction site since the ones who are
going to do the bidding is the online auction site themselves.
• Members then use the search page of the online auction site to look for the cars they
want. The results page gives the buyer the option to view the car with
its detailed report done by the inspectors of the vehicles. The
auction sheet is done in Japanese but the auction site provides the
translation for it. If the buyer has more questions, the auction site will
provide answers.
l The cars are carefully examined by the inspectors which are placed
in the auction sheet. They give a grading to the cars they inspected. They do not hide
anything from the buyer.
l When the buyer decides on a car, they place a proxy bid on the online auction site. The
auction site will be the one who will do the bidding during the live auction that will take
place the following week.
l There are five outcomes of an auction. First is the car bought by the auction site you've
become a member to; the other is bought by another auction site, a car that has passed,
a car under negotiation or it is removed.
When the first outcome happens in Japan auction, the auction site will then send it to you.
The payment of the car will be done right after the shipment has departed from the port on
towards its destination to the buyer.
