2. The first step is to prep your lid. A lot of times eye
shadow smudges as the night goes on but there are
ways to prevent this from happening. You need a
primer which you apply to your lids and wait a few
seconds for it to dry. We sell a primer for $20 that is
magical.
The second step is to apply eyeliner. typically
smokey eyes are black, gray, or brown so whichever
color you choose, you apply to the upper lash line,
drawing the line thicker towards the middle of your
eyes.
The third step is to blend in color on the bottom
lashes. You want to use a pencil eyeliner because it
smudges easier. you can either use your fingers to
smudge over the liner or you can apply eye shadow
over it to smudge it.
3. The fourth step is to apply a lighter base color. The point
of a smokey eye is to blend a lighter base with a darker
hue. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your
brow bone. You want to choose moist shadows such as
ours because the consistency helps it stay on forever. Our
shadows start at $10.
The fifth step is to now blend in a darker color, but keep it
below the crease. This is where the smokey effect really
comes in. Using an eyebrow brush (ours range from $15-
$25) blend in color stating at your lash line, blending up.
make sure to blend the color into the lash line so the
eyeliner disappears.
The sixth step is to double check your work. Make sure
your eyes match and for perfect blending a q-tip is
recommended.
Finally finish with several coats of mascara. Use an
eyelash curler first and then begin extending your lashes
with about 3-4 coats of mascara.
