2. Why LI-FI ?
It is a “Wireless Optical Networking Technology”.
As it uses light for transmission of data and the operation of whole system is depends
on precise transmission of data through light.
Therefore, this system is termed as “Li-Fi”.
5. In Li-Fi technology the transmission source is LED or
Fluorescent blub.
Various devices that requires wireless medium for
communication are used as receiver.
Li-Fi technology uses visible light spectrum for transmission of
data.
As it uses visible light spectrum for communication ,this
technology is also called as VLC (Visible Light Communication).
Due to use of Visible light spectrum Li-Fi system has larger
bandwidth as compared to other systems.
6. NECESSITY OF LI-FI SYSTEM
The essential factors for designing of a Li-Fi system are as
follows:
1.Presence of light.
2. Line Of Sight.
3. Fluorescent Blub or LED.
8. ADVANTAGES OF LI-FI
Data transfer takes place at very high speed.
It provides a secure communication.
Harmless for human beings as it uses VLC
Doesn’t interferes with other system operation as light is
used as source of transmission.
9. DISADVANTAGES OF LI-FI
Range of communication is limited as light cannot pass through
opaque object or obstacles.
It can’t cover a large area as that of radio waves.
It can get affected by external light interference like sun, normal
bulbs.
The implementation cost of VLC system is high.
