2. INTRODUCTION:-
India is indeed a unique country where tradition and
modernity co-exist without much difficulty. This holds true in
the sports field too. Alongside history, culture & arts india has
thrived in the fields of different sports. Cricket, hockey,
tennis, shooting, archery and a host of other contemporary
sports are played in the country. If on the one hand there is
great passion for the very Brit cricket, there is equal interest
in homegrown games like kho-kho, gilli-danda, and kabaddi.

3. INDIA IS KNOWN AS DIABETIC CAPITAL OF WORLD. WHY?
Ans: Because now-a-days many people do not do any sought of
physical exercise which result in a lot of diseases, mainly
Diabetes.
The main purpose of sports & games is mental & physical
refreshment.

4. Sports played in modern india are:
Cricket
Hockey
Tennis
Football
Chess
Atheletics

5. IN INDIA ONLY SOME GAMES ARE GIVEN
PREFERENCE. WHY?
Mainly a sport cricket is given a lot of importance in india.
WHY DON’T WE ENCOURAGE OUR ANCIENT GAMES AND
ALSO SOME OTHER SPORTS !

6. WHY INDIA IS NOT ABLE SUCCEED IN SPORTS ?
Lack of professionalism among sports persons.
No infrastructure.
Politics in sports.
Other reasons.
CRICKET IS A MAJOR THREAT TO OTHER GAMES IN INDIA.
Corruption in sports authorities.
No sponsors for other sports.
IPL (Indian Premier League).

7. WHY IS INDIA A LOSER IN OLYMPICS?

8. CAN INDIA EXCEL IN SPORTS?
Yes , India can excel in the field of sports.
The following measures are to be taken.
REASONS FOR INDIA FOR NOT SUCCESSFUL IN SPORTS:
Indians lack team spirit .
Do Indians lack the killer instinct?
Our society is meritocracy.
schools and universities do not have adequate facilities.
There is the problem of parochialism .
We idolise our sports heros .
financial resources .

9. THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES SHOULD BE
APPLIED:
focus on few sporting activities like cricket, hockey,
football, and long-distance running.
engagement of coaches .
attractive remuneration.
Identification of talent .
development of promising youngsters.

10. INDIA WITH 1.2 BILLION PEOPLE ONLY 3 MEDALS
SMALL COUNTRY LIKE JAMAICA WITH 4 GOLD MEDALS
IN INDIA SPORTS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED AMONG YOUTH
SO WE HOPE BY 2020 OLYMPICS WE SECURE ATLEAST 10 GOLD
MEDALS
LETS HOPE THAT SOME THING WOULD CHANGE IN FIELD OF
SPORTS IN INDIA BY 2020 BY HAVING A CLEAR VISION
