Dear HR.
I’m writing to apply to work at an Entry Level Manufacturing position. On December
2012, I have received my AS degree in Machine Tool Technology from Chabot College. At
Chabot College, I learned the basics of work in a Machine, CNC Machine, Welding, and
Automotive shops.
I’m interested working as Manufacturer because I enjoy using hand tools, operating
machinery, and learning new skills. I have my own vehicle, so travel is not an issue. At Chabot
College, I have had experience using a variety of hand tools and machine operation. The
machines I’ve operated include manual lathes, mills, and drill presses.
I have a total of twenty months of machine shop experience.
 Between the end of November 2013 and January 2014, I was employed as a
Machine Operator in a small Machine Shop in Hayward called ILM Tool. I ran
CNC mills, vertical milling machines, and contour band saws.
 Between June 2014 and July 2014, I was a Machine Operator and Shop Hand for
a shop in Oakland called Ace Machines. There I operated engine lathes, pulled
weeds, perform cleanup, and ran a couple small deliveries. The business closed
because the sole proprietor passed away.
 From August 2014 to Present, I was employed as a Machine Operator and Shop
Hand in Oakland at Columbia Machine Works. I operated CNC Mills, CNC
Lathes, vertical milling machines, contour band saws, and drill presses. I also
cleaned the floors, machines, and package our products for shipping.
 I have also been employed at the Oakland Zoo since 2005 where I work weekends
keeping the café clean. I take out the garbage, clean the grounds, and general
custodian duties
I’m also an Eagle Scout. On April 17, 2015 I have earned a BASIC PLUS CPR, AED,
and First Aid for adults Certification Card by MEDIC First Aid. On July 14, 2014, I was
awarded a Gold National Career Readiness Certificate by ACT. My certificate # is
