4. The creation of visual art enables both
‘high fliers’ and academically challenged
pupils to work on a level footing.
Creativity encourages everyone!
5. My aim for each art project is to:
• enable both individual and team working
• encourage pupils to
– have a ‘can do’ attitude
– learn new skills
– learn a process rather than focus on the end result and the
production of ‘identikits’
– think ‘outside of the box’
• emphasise the importance of each individual’s creations and
those of others
• present pupils’ artwork in a way that has lasting value for the
pupil and the school community
37. A Feltmaking Project
to encourage greater awareness of
healthy eating with KS2 pupils in

38. The schools:
• St John with St Augustine’s C of E Primary School
• Hyndburn Park Primary School
• Springhill Primary School
• Benjamin Hargreaves C of E Primary School
• Baxenden C of E Primary School
92. A project that deconstructs an abstract painting by
Pablo Picasso to create,
through a number of art processes,
an entirely original painting by the pupil…
93. • cutting up a copy of the painting
• creating a sculpture with the pieces of
painting
• photographing the sculpture
• drawing the photograph
• painting the drawing
97. ‘Clitheroe – A Special Place’
A painting by 60 pupils
from KS 1 & KS2
Pendle Primary School
98. Pupils chose an image to represent Clitheroe:
the castle, the library, Edisford Bridge…
which were then painted on
individual pieces of canvas.
Each pupils’ painting was then appliqued
onto a large canvas panel.
