Women’s Soccer: Postseason awards announced
COMMERCE, Texas – Lone Star Conference Champion Texas A&M‐Commerce had eight total selections on
the All‐LSC women’s soccer team announced Thursday evening at the championship banquet in Commerce,
Texas.
A&M‐C had two first‐team picks and six second‐teamers to take top billing after winning its third league
title. The Lions Savannah Henderson was tabbed co‐Offensive Player of the Year.
Texas Woman’s had seven selections, while Angelo State and Midwestern State each had six.
ASU took home four special awards with co‐Offensive Player of the Year Sierra Anderson, co‐Goalkeeper of
the Year Shantel Wittke and co‐Defensive Player of the Year Ashley Exford plus the Coach of the Year, Travis
McCorkle, for the second straight year.
MSU’s Courtney Burnette shared Goalkeeper of the Year and fellow Mustang Destinee Williamson was
named Freshman of the Year.
TWU’s Natalia Diaz earned Newcomer of the Year acclaim, while Eastern New Mexico’s Renee Romero
shared Defensive Player of the Year.
The first team consisted of A&M‐C’s Vicky Back and Henderson; ASU’s Exford, Anderson, Haley Mendel,
and Wittke; ENMU’s Romero and Alyssa Prince; MSU’s Morgan Hannon, Katy Catney, and Burnette; and West
Texas A&M’s Rhea Belgrave.
Overall, 35 student‐athletes were recognized with the all‐conference honors program, including at least
one player from all six women’s soccer teams in the league.

Women’s Soccer: A&M‐C’s Callie Annett leads academic awards
COMMERCE, Texas – Texas A&M‐Commerce midfielder Callie Annett was named the Lone Star Conference
Academic Player of the Year as conference officials announced the women’s soccer academic awards during
the LSC Championship banquet on Thursday.
Annett, an accounting major, has played in all 18 games for the Lions with 1.56 shots per game. The senior
is a three‐time LSC All‐Academic team selection.
The All‐Academic team is chosen by the league’s sports information directors, who select players on the
basis of both athletic and academic achievement. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student‐athletes
must have played in at least 50 percent of team’s contests, reached sophomore athletic and academic
standing (true freshmen and redshirt freshmen are not eligible), completed at least one full academic year at
the nominating institution, and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average based on the 4.0 system
for their entire collegiate career.
Joining Annett on the 11‐member team are players from A&M‐C, Texas Woman’s, West Texas A&M,
Angelo State, and Eastern New Mexico.
The Lions were represented on the team by Callie Annett, Jade Bell, Savannah Henderson, and Cadie
Annett, while TWU added Gabrielle Larson and Erin Bolinger. WT’s Emily Krenek and Jessie Thomas, along
with ASU’s Haley Mendel and Selena Alvarez and ENMU’s Alyssa Prince rounded out the team.
Krenek and Cadie Annett joined Callie Annett as repeat selections to the squad.
