*Water!!! Chickens drink a lot of water and they like it
fresh.
*Rocks – Before food goes into the stomach it goes into the
chicken’s crop. The crop uses the rocks that they have
eaten to grind up or “chew” the food that they have
eaten.

*Chickens LOVE the color red.
*They go through a molt yearly where almost all of
their feathers fall out and grow back again
*Predators are a great danger to chickens
*Bedtime!
*Chickens go to bed as soon as it starts to get dark.
*They come back to the hen house on their own.
*They sleep on a roost and like to roost higher than they
lay their eggs.
*They lay eggs for around 5-7 years and can live for 8-10
years.
