Summary
Recently completed training and now I’m a Rescue Firefighter with Northern Territory Fire And
Rescue Service.
Before becoming a firefighter I worked in the Building and Construction Industry for 24 years as a
qualified Bricklayer. During this time I was self-employed for 10 years and ran a successful bricklaying
and scaffolding business employing up to 20 people for a further 10 years. Last year after nearly 24
years in the trade of bricklaying I decided to sell the business to my employees. The years of being self-
employed and running the businesses have taught me the dedication to quality workmanship, the
integrity and respect required to manage my team and crucial safety management to make sure
everyone can go home to their families. This dedication is extended to my sporting and fitness
endeavors where I have been able to complete events as part of a team or individuality, which pushed
me to the limits both physically and mentally, with a recent highlight of completing my second
Ironman in Melbourne. The years of experience, both professionally and personally, have enabled me
to be a strong contributor, motivator and educator to the various teams I have been associated with.
