Sentences with adjectival predicate

S………………(adv)…………Adj.
Wǒ hěn mánɡ
Tā shēn tǐ hěn hǎo
2. Negative form:
S………………(adv)…………Adj.
Xuéshenɡ bú duō
wǒmen bù mánɡ
Note:
1 Adjectives are used independently as the predicate in the
sentence with an adjectival predicate. The verb “shì (to be)” is not
needed.
2 The negative form of a sentence with an adjectival predicate
is made by placing the negative adverb “bù” before the predicate
5. adjective. It is wrong to put “bú shì” between the subject and the
predicate adjective, therefore, we can never say:
* Gōnɡzuò bú shì mánɡ
* Shēntǐ bú shì hǎo
