Banking industry before going into the challenging world of the Oil & Gas Industry. Austin

Prior to venturing into Petroleum Products Marketing, Austin had demonstrated high level
performance in the banking industry where he crisscrossed and garnered on the job
experience in various desks of many Bank branches across Nigeria winning awards in
performance with rapid promotion, hence higherchallenges due to hard work, grasp, depth,
exposure and wider reach in contacts across the globe.
He started his working career at the operations unit of the United Bank for Africa Plc
Abuja main branch where he also did his one year NYSC in 1998/99 and later worked in the
Treasury and Investment Banking unit (Federal Government Deposit Mobilization Unit) of
the same bank before moving to the Societe Generale Bank Ltd where he worked in Abuja
and Kaduna branches - he functioned at the CreditAdmin and Retail Banking desks ofthe
2. bank with occasional transfers on relief assignment to the Risk Management Division in
Head Office, Lagos. He was instrumental to the development of Risk Management
framework of the Northern business group of ‘SGBN” and headed the CreditAdministration
and the Retail Banking desks of Abuja branches before pitching tent with the erstwhile
Fortune International Bank Plc. At Fortune International Bank; He was the Profit Center
manager of the Wuse, keffi and Karu branches of the bank as he was among the pioneer
team at the Karu International Market Branch, a prominentmember of the group thatsaw to

He later joined Guardian Express Bank Plc and worked at the Garki and Wuse-Abuja
branches ofthe bank in the Commercial Banking Sector. Atthe Guardian Express Bank; he
was responsible for new business development, depositmobilization as well as relationship
management of high net-worth clients. He worked closely with the General Manager
commercial banking group and thereafter moved to Platinum Bank Limited. At Platinum
Bank Ltd Abuja branch; he worked as AssistantManager atGarki branch ofthe bank and
headed the retail banking and franchise groups before moving to the IntercontinentalBank
Plc.
At Intercontinental Bank Plc, he worked extensively in the Northern region of Kaduna,
Kano, Jalingo, Potiskum and Gombe branches where he worked variously as Business
DevelopmentManager and later as the; Regional Manager Risk ManagementGroup-North
East in Gombe Regional Office and successfully managed the Risk Assets Portfolio of the
over thirty (30) North-East branches ofthe Bank with cumulative balance-sheetin excess of
N200Billion posting impressive profits monthly. In that capacity he worked closely with the
Regional ChiefExecutive (RcE) of the Bank and indeed represented the region; (i) severally
at the Board Credit Committee Meetings in Head office where he presented and defended
various high ticket transactions from the region for board’s approval (ii) The Bank-wide
Monthly Performance Review at Head Office in Lagos (iii) The Bank managementatvarious
Business Forum in the Northern Region ofNigeria and also worked atvarious times with the
Central Bank ofNigeria visiting inspectors on Risk Assets and annual account matters.
At the twilights of the acquisition of the Intercontinental Bank Plc by the Access Bank Plc, he
had a stint with the AIICO Insurance Company before moving to the Fincon-Offshore
Petroleum Company Limited (subsidiary of FINCON- Assets Management Company
Limited) an independentpetroleum marketing companybased in Kaduna on Franchise with
Kaduna Refinery & Petrochemicals with oversight operation covering Abuja and inner-
Northern parts of the country as he was the Head, Commercial (Bulk) Sales and Marketing
and later joined Ascon Oil Limited.
3. Prior to joining ASCON OIL COMPANY LIMITED, Austin had a contract with Capital Oil
Plc Lagos as a sales representative with core mandate to developing new business
relationships with various counter- parties as well as efficiently managing the existing clients
- as it relates to transactions on various Petroleum and Allied Products – AGO, PMS, DPK
and LUBRICANTS.
Presently with the Business Development Group of Ascon Oil Company Limited (Lube)
Lagos.The group responsible forthe Blending,Marketing and Sales ofAscon Oil range of
Lubricants nation wide. Ascon Lube Plant is the Lubricantand Specialty products division
of Ascon Oil Company Limited.
At Ascon Oil Company (Lube), We are involved in providing Lubrication and Petrochemical
solutions to Automobile Industries and Companies in Nigeria and beyond. The Plant is
equipped with the state-of-the-art machines and an advanced Tribology laboratory for Lube
blending. The division produces and markets (liquid and semi-solid) Lubricants employing
choice and highly refined base stock and the very best in additive technology in the
manufacturing of the Ascon range of lubricants. He is also involved in the sales and
marketing of other allied Products like the white Oil to private, industrial and aviation end
users as well as in research and maintenance needs ofTank Farms and industrial clients’
consultancy.
