In general, the more pages you have indexed by Google the more median monthly leads you will receive. And this isn't just a correlation; Google relies on the number of indexed pages when they determine your website' s Page Rank or general reputation. More than just having more webpages, creating content for your blog actually increases your traffic as well. Companies that blog have 55% more website visitors than does that do not blog. Blogging also increases your lead generation. B2B companies who blog generate 67% more leads per month than those who do not. But, it's not enough to just have a blog. Companies who blog more often see an increase in median monthly leads. You should be blogging regularly to see results. Why would blogging have this impact? To understand this, consider the links you receive when creating blog content. Companies producing regular blog content see 97% more inbound links to their websites, nearly double that of companies who don't blog. In this chart form SeoMoz, you can see the top factors that influence search rankings among links. It's interesting to see the top 3 relate to the number of unique web properties that link to your website. Putting all this together, you know you need a blog and you need to create better content. In the last 4 years, marketing budgets have shifted from 22% on SEO, blogs, and social media combined to 35% for thee three combined. Savvy marketers realize this area is increasing in importance and are adjusting their budgets accordingly. Finally, here are some words from Matt Cutts, head of Search at Google. As he says, make great compelling content and you will rank higher in Google. This is white hat SEO. So to summarize, the more pages you have on your website, the more traffic your website will receive. Additionally, blogging is a great way to increase traffic.
