3. CINEMA/ART HOUSES
Cinemas would probably not show our film because:
We lack the public attention needed to properly bring in a large
audience
We lack the financial backing that much companies that have to make
a better impression on cinemas
Art Houses on the other hand are a great place to show off our film
They show smaller independent films that have a more niche market
Smaller audiences make it easier to get proper feedback
4. STREAMING SERVICES
Video Streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc.
offer a monthly subscription. As well as their own films and TV
series, they also show a number of smaller, independent films. With
having such massive subscriber bases this would drum up a lot of
attention for us. Unfortunately it is quite hard to get their attention to
allow our film to be shown. Also it depends on if enough subscribers
are interested with the Film Noir genre.
5. FILM FESTIVALS
Film Festivals, like Art Houses are a good way to exhibit your film if
you're a small company. They are massive events that last 2 or 3 days
sometimes. This could be good for us because:
Large audiences means more publicity
Local news/local newspaper might cover it as its a massive event
People from bigger film companies might be there to scout for
talent
6. RETAILERS
One more way to get our film is just by directly selling it to retailers
through DVD form. This might not be through big Retailers like
HMV or the supermarkets but small DVD shops found on high
streets might sell them. We would have to spend money on DVD
cases and invest time into creating a cover for it aswell but we can
make that back through the sales.
