- So how does Helix work?To the scientist, it’s simple – Just swipe the pass, grab the product and get back to the benchIt’s no surprise that simplicity requires advanced technology. The passkey controls access to the unit while RFID technology tracks the inventory. The Helix Core Center monitors inventory, temperature and expiration dates around the clock so that the scientists have continuous access to fresh product.Let’s explore how this impacts the key stakeholders in more detail.How Does Helix Work?Helix is a “smart” patented on site storage solution that provides Secure Access, Product Tracking, and Real Time Monitoring. Simply place a Helix on site stocking solution at your point of use. Pre- authorized users access the Helix solution by swiping their badge. Users add or remove inventory and shut the door; the system tracks all product movement automatically, and automates the billing and reordering process. Secure AccessAll Helix units are locked to ensure secure storage of the inventory. To access the products, a user presents their access badge near the LCD screen to unlock the door. We work closely with you to identify your list of approved users that need access to the Helix solution. Approved users are issued an access badge that contains information such as user identification, cost assignment, group, department, and grant details. Product TrackingUsing secure access and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), every inventory transaction is captured and monitored in real time.
