•Super Hosts
•Awards Distribution
•Shoe Mountain
•Lost Kids
•Pre Race Mixer inside Metro Centre on race days Saturday & Sunday

Lost Kids Booth
The Doctors NS Youth Run Saturday May 17th
.
If you find a lost child, tell them you are a volunteer and bring them to the
designated Lost Kids Area located inside the Metro Centre on the Brunswick
Street (West) side of the ice surface, immediately next to the First Aid
Station.
Lost Kids area will be clearly marked with neon signage.
Volunteers will be easily spotted wearing a
bright green t-shirt.
Super Hosts Volunteers
You are the first face our registrants see so you are very important!
Your role is to welcome them to the Active Living Expo at WTCC and answer
questions about everything in the Blue Nose Marathon weekend.
It is important that you become familiar with all three levels at the WTCC, the
Metro Centre, as well as the race events and the many activities taking place
Blue Nose weekend.
Kit Pick up
• Youth or Adult kit pick up is offered Friday and Saturday at the WTCC
• Youth and 10K kit pick up are on Level 1.
• 5K, Half and Full Marathon kit pick up are on Level 2.
• Both levels have Chip Activation.
• Volunteers cross-check participant’s name, verify t-shirt size, race events
entered and provides the race kit including t-shirt to the participant.
Make sure runners know to activate their chip or they won’t get a time!
Point of Sale
Runner Services manages the Point of Sale (POS) system that
processes fees for Race Entry and Pasta Village
tickets – onsite on race weekend.
It is helpful, but not necessary, that volunteers
have experience with a cash register and debit
machine – our coordinators will show you the ropes.
POS is located on Level 1 of the WTCC.
Pre-shift training will be provided for this position.
Registration
• Volunteers assist walkers and runners who have yet to register for Blue
Nose events.
• You may be asked questions about the events so you need to be very
familiar with Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon.
• In addition to registration questions, you may be asked about related
topics such as t-shirt exchange, No Sweat policy, Sponsor registration,
Charity Challenge to name a few.
• Registration is located on Level 1 of the WTCC.
Volunteer Centre
All volunteers must check in at the Volunteer Centre prior to their shift.
•Folks here assist with registering volunteers, providing t-shirts and making
sure they have what they need before sending them out on their shift.
•New for 2014 we are offering secure bag storage for our volunteers!
•They also provide refreshment and snacks.
Distribution Centre
Logistics Volunteers distribute pre ordered supplies to other committees such
as:
Tools, office supplies, snacks, radios, etc.
We use carts to deliver and some items are heavy so expect to work in teams
of two. This team also conduct inventory and repack supplies, outbound post
event. Get ready to work those muscles!
If you are required to visit the Distribution Centre, it is located on the 3rd
Floor
of the WTCC and is open all 3 days during Event Weekend.
Did you forget any details about your
volunteer shifts?
Our new volunteer software can provide you with that
information. The “Forgot your assignments” button can be
found on the Volunteer Sign up page (see below).
Recap, Key Reminders!
• Know your role (if you don’t, ask questions).
• Be safe and keep the participants safe.
• Don’t abandon your post!
• Stay until the end of the event or your shift.
• Last, but not least, have FUN!
