On ANZAC Day 2007 in Perth, Western Australia, a speech was given to commemorate those who served in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) in times of war. The speech honors the ANZACs who fought courageously on the first day of battle at Gallipoli in 1915, as well as those who later served in many conflicts and theaters of war around the world, and paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives or health. The speech concludes by saying that the ANZACs have left Australia with a splendid heritage, and that their memory and sacrifice should never be forgotten.
