While reading through my strengths I believe that all of
them portray me in some way that I believe is true. When I came
across my strength of includer was when I found it to be kind of
sort of like me but not 100 percent me. I am not a person that
just goes to random people and includes them in my group. I am
someone that has to know we share a common interest for me to
include you in my circle of friends. I do agree that I like to
include everyone like if my friends and I are going out to eat I
will be the person that invites other people so they are not
alone. My mom truly believed that all five of my strengths were
represented exactly how I am in real life. She knows that I am
someone that uses all five of my strengths almost every day in a
way that only I can see.
At first glance of seeing communication and woo as my
strengths I thought of when I did a DECA project in high school.
This project I had to present to judges on a company that should
be made and give them budget numbers on why it would be a great
investment. This strongly fits the strength of woo just by me
having to woo the judges to help me start up the company. Also
it accurately describes communication by me being able to talk
to them and make sure they knew everything they wanted to know.
With the strong assets of command, competition and includer I
really saw a connection in the use of these when I am playing
sports. For example when playing basketball I get really

competitive and command people around. My competitiveness can
really help the vibe of the whole team and get them pumped to
play and do better. Since being in college when going to the WRC
I love to invite new people to come join me to play so they
don’t feel left out. This is where the includer characteristic
is mainly connects with me.
As you can see the strengths can be a positive attribute in
certain situations, but can also be difficult to use it in some
other circumstances. For me I found that using woo in some of my
classes is really hard to you, because there is no presentations
in front of the class just standardized test. This is very
difficult for me because I am more of an outgoing person that
likes to talk to other people not sit a desk and fill in the
bubble. Another situation that I saw difficulty in applying my
strengths is when at family events. When trying to woo my family
I always have a relative that is doing something better. Also
with me being one of the youngest from my family they will never
compete against me in some of the stuff that I know I will win.
I can always communicate with my family but it is hard to
include other people in conversations because it could end up in
arguments about some of the most random material. It is crazy to
think that the only time my strengths are really weaknesses is
when I am with my family but I see how it hard for me to connect
it with all of them.

When deciding on the final activity we are going to do in
my friend group it usually comes down to me. This makes our
relationship together better because then there is less fighting
and arguing. I am also the person that likes to communicate if
there is ever a problem between two of my friends. With my
friends group I am the one that always make sure everyone gets
an invite to what we are going to be doing that night. I want to
make sure none of my friends feel like I am ditching them or any
of my friends are ditching them. My relationship can have some
challenging moments sorely on the fact of these assets. I always
like to woo and communicate with my mom to convince her to let
me go somewhere or do something. This can get to look ugly
because I never know when to stop when my mom says no. With my
mom always being able to say no even if I come up with great
points on why I should able to do the activity I am asking to
do. This does not my mean that our relationship is bad just that
it can be arguing because we both like to get our way.
When I was in my Business 1000 class here at University of
Northern Iowa all of my strengths were used. After we took
StrengthsQuest for the class we were put into groups that all
had different assets than you did. This actually was a fun
activity to see all of the strengths being used in one group and
see how smoothly they work together. With my competition
attribute I believe that it gives me the drive to do my best in

school. I have always been the one trying to get the best grades
in my school and still try to keep doing better, because if I
don’t I feel like I didn’t try hard enough.
