I have chosen this picture emphasises on
the members faces. This is used through
the lighting and contrasts as if focuses on
the faces as it is brighter and stands out
more. This reflects their music as it shows
exactly how they are and the music they
produce. It shows there mainstream genre
of a mix of pop/indie.
The image shows a very feminine
side to Rihanna as it over
emphasises on her feminine
characteristics. The use of the red
lips represents love and passion, but
also danger. This is shown through
the use of the close up on her face
as it is the central image. This also
represents her gender and sexuality.
The style of the picture is set out
well as they use shallow depth of
field to focus on the band members
and make them centre of attention.
The colours of their clothing
represent their genre as they are a
rock band and the black clothing has
many connotations to a
stereotypical rock band.

also quite eye catching due to the

even the clothing used represents

stereotype to rap and R ‘N’ b genres.

background could represent his
mainstream genre as white is a very
plain and common colour. Also the
rule of thirds is applied as the Justin
Bieber has a very central image.

contrasted to represent their genre.
