By 2013 the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) has a large support information (infrastructure,
land registry, user registry, satellite images and sources use):
• Model of GIS to farm level for the 85 Irrigation Districts (SIGDIR).
• Model of Geographical Information Systems for more than one million 600 thousand hectares in
Irrigation Units (SIGUR).
• Basic information about Technified Rainfed Districts.
The challenge is to have cadastral models for the 9.2 million hectares representing jointly Irrigation
Districts, Irrigation Units Districs and Technified Rainfed Districts.
