This document provides guidance on Creative Commons licensing for participants of the dissemination event organised by C-SAP (Higher Education Academy Subject Cnetre for Sociology, Anthropology and Politics) on 24 October 2011. Non-Commercial - The work may not be used for commercial purposes Share Alike — If you alter, transform, or build upon the licensed work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a licence identical to this one.<br />Importantly, with a CC licence, you keep your copyright but allow others to copy and distribute your work, provided they attribute your work and adhere to the conditions you specify in the licence.<br />There are many benefits attached to applying a Creative Commons license to your work. The license signals to others clearly whether the work can be shared, distributed and/or re-used without having to go through the lengthy process of contacting the author or resolving copyright issues. Importantly, we would like to ensure that those contributions are shared as widely as possible and ideally re-used and distributed within various academic networks. This is why all participants are invited to license their work under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.0 UK: England & Wales license.
