• Various presenta<ons at interna<onal conferences regarding
archiving ac<vi<es
• IFLA satellite mee<ng 2014, BULAC:
Panel Discussion on Collabora<ve Storage (Australia/New
Zealand, Austria, France, UK, USA/Canada)
• Joint publica<on “Collec<ons Earning Their Keep. An Overview of
Interna<onal Archiving Ini<a<ves“ (DOI: 10.12685/027.7-3-1-58)
• Discussions on interna<onal level showed that due to differences
in legal, organiza<onal and financial frameworks focusing on
Europe seemed more feasible for successful coopera<on.

3. The Story so far …
During 2015 UKRR and Austrian Shared Archiving agreed upon
organising a first informal mee<ng of various archiving
ini<a<ves at Vienna University Library on 19.11.2015.

5. Mission Statement
We believe that a comprehensive and robust research and
informa<on infrastructure is essen<al for Europe’s wellbeing,
now and in the future.
We are concerned that, at a <me of unprecedented change in
the ways informa<on is collected, stored and disseminated,
there is a real danger that some of the important printed
resources in our European libraries may be at risk.
In view of this we intend to ini<ate a number of plans.
