Normally the statistics available in Thailand are available at the macro level; but when it comes to the product
or industry level we often find unclear data that's difficult to judge the relevancy to your own business.

4. Limited Data from Government Agencies
It's not easy to determine the figures associated with market sizing in Thailand and this is mainly because the
data collection from the Government Agencies is not comprehensive or detailed enough to give you a picture
of how big the market of your product actually is.

5. Therefore, we would like to share the practice that we use to

This is a database of registered companies where
you can get public financial figures such as sales
and net profits.

This is the source you can use if you know the
names of your competitors. You can identify the
key players and get their annual revenues in order
to extrapolate for the total estimated market size.

This method works well for the industries in which
key players do not diversify their businesses to
focus on other industries.

This is because the annual revenue figure is a
consolidated revenue, therefore, it will be less
accurate if a company has a diversified revenue
from different industries.

Import and export data can be found from the
Ministry of Commerce website

This is a useful source of data if import companies
mainly supply the market. You can find the import
value and quantity from this source.

However, if you are in a niche market, import and
export data only gives you a broad view of your
product category and is not useful for an analysis.

construction units report data to government agencies especially those that are located out of the city area.
