EVENT DETAILS:
o International Kayak and Canoe Singles Knockout Competition for Men and Women
o Juvenile Kayak and Canoe Singles Knockout Competition for Men and Women
o Kayak Fours Competition for Men and Women
o Men’s Canoe Fours Competition
o Women’s Canoe Singles Competition
o Race Format
 200-metre races that will begin with a series of preliminary rounds
 Field will be reduced to a final round
 Final round will be sudden death format and prizes will be awarded in order of finish
o Club Mixed Dragon Boat and War Canoe Competition
 Open dragon boat and war canoe 200-metre competition
 Crews will be mixed with a minimum number of men and women
 Heats and finals will be run depending on number of entries

 Canada has qualified for all 12 canoekayak events in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
 The opportunity is high for medal results in the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing.
 The Mazda CanoeKayak Knockout sprint races will showcase Canada’s top ranked paddlers.
 Canadians are among the highest ranked paddlers in the world.
 Canadians finished well at the recent 2007 World Championships.
