Databases are collections of organized information that can be easily searched and reorganized. They are made up of records, with each record containing information in defined fields that can be filled in, like name, movie title, or ingredients. Many records together make up a complete database. Common examples of databases mentioned include IMDb, iTunes, a recipe collection, and a phone book, as they each organize various types of data into searchable records.
