2. Holmes in the classroom is an effective way to introduce learners to observation and logic . I believe that Holmes is a relevant character in school because he never theorizes without facts . Instead, he bases his findings on what he already knows . The connection between observation and deduction has applications across the curriculum. Skills that can be introduced by using Holmes, are scanning information, select ing what is relevant and discard ing what is less so, before combining findings with prior knowledge . I believe that only then can learners form a valid opinion.
