Eight evaluators at Toronto Public Health formed a Community of Practice (CoP) to improve their evaluation skills. The CoP functions by sharing insights and learning from each other. Members meet regularly to discuss challenges, resources, and evaluation approaches. Benefits include professional development through collaboration with peers and strengthening the quality of evaluations conducted. Barriers include competing priorities and demonstrating the value of the CoP to the organization. The presenters provide suggestions for others interested in starting a CoP to energize evaluation practice.
