What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
When thinking about whom my magazine was going to be aimed at, the way it was
distributed became very obvious to me. My magazine is generally aimed at the younger
generation that is into rock. The possible ways that it may have been distributed to my
customers was either through mail, or a monthly subscription. A lot of people own things
such as; iPads, laptops and iPhone. Monthly subscriptions would be done through this or
mailed to their doors. The majority of people ages between 16-21 spend over 4 hours either
on their phone, the laptop of on a computer game, so what better way to reach out to them
electronically?
Distribution falls into three different categories;
 Paid circulation (sold to readers for a price)
 Non – Paid circulation (no price and magazines are given away)
 Controlled circulation (people may get these for free if some form of survey is
completed, or they qualify in other ways to get this magazine)
