Groups are two or more
individuals who interact with
  one another, share similar
      characteristics and
 collectively have a sense of
   unity, mutual influence, a
       common feeling of
 camaraderie, and who work
together to achieve a common
          set of goals~
Task group- a facilitation group that includes task forces,
committees, planning groups, etc. They serve the following
purposes meeting clients, organization and community
needs. Conquering the task at hand. EJC is a Multi-
functional Task Group.

Psycho educational- works with well functioning
individuals who may have an information deficit and
focuses on developing members cognitive, affective, and
behavioral skills through a structured set of procedures. The
goal of this group is to prevent an array of educational
deficits and psychological problems while integrating
factual information.


                                                      Module 10
Counseling- specialize in participants resolving
 problems of living. The difference of this group
 and psycho-ed group is that it deals with the
 conscious problems and is not aimed at major
 personality changes


Psychotherapy-these specialist help participants to
remediate psychological problems such as
depression, sexual differences, eating disorders, ect.
   Groups are structured by
    policies, standards, principles, organizational and business
    models, legislation and social norms (acceptable behaviors)

    types of EJC norms are: positive environmental ambivalence
    and personal conduct, supportiveness, productive work
    performance and attendance, assistance, respect, dedication
    and loyalty, appropriate dress code, empowerment and self-
    management, representativeness and diversity.

   A groups structure provides direction, clarity, purpose and
    predictability to the groups functioning.
•   Take place in the groups development and are:
    all the elements and its dynamics, basic to the unfolding
    and creation of the group from the time it begins to its
    termination.

•   There are also a set of “Stages” that all groups
    experience, through the groups (members) the groups
    development, progress and success/failure.

•   Learning the stages of development assist all members
    and is vital to the groups successful functioning.
Pre-group, Initial Stage, Transitional
       Stage, Working Stage and Final Stage

The Pre-group Stage- takes place before the group
 is created or when new members first join. Many
 questions regarding the groups purpose, goals
 and expectations are unclear;
 questions, insecurities and the directions of the
 group must be explained.
