VI. Some things to think about prior to shooting video
a. Budget
i. Shooting video can be very cost effective and does not have to cost a lot
of money – Depends on client’s needs
ii. The more answers you have, the more likely your project will be
successful financially and technically
b. Use green screen or live background?
c. Length of video? Size matters for video
i. Chunk video content to add a dynamic element to any eLearning
d. Actors / Talent
Prior to shoot:
i. Choose talent
ii. Send completed scripts
iii. Include detailed descriptions of character, setting, audience, scene layout
iv. Establish dress code
v. Establish time and address for arrival
e. Agenda

ii. Allow enough time for participants to be prepared
iii. Designate one person to be in charge of all communication for talent and
crew

a. Visual storyboard (FOR CLIENTS TO VISUALIZE) – Dynamic visual representation
of how video will look and sound
b. Video Storyboard (for your video crew) – Outlines visual presentation of script
and may explain how video will be shot
c. Script – Content placed in a short and sweet scene. Style similar to reading a
book.
