How to Use it For Increased
       Engagement
Every time you publish an update on
your Facebook page, it will reflect in
   your fans ticker. But so will their
friend’s posts, and quite frankly – its
  information overload most of the
time. Instead you should invest your
 time getting your updates into your
  fans newsfeed. The most coveted
 spots? New stories, and top stories.
Let’s explore how you can make your
        posts newsfeed ready.
Reasons To Focus on Your Newsfeed
It’s a well known fact that once a fan
 has liked your page, they very rarely
     return. But that doesn’t matter
 anymore – not with the newsfeed at
   your disposal. Instead of attracting
  fans to your page, you need to start
   attracting them to each individual
post. It’s far easier writing a comment,
  sharing or liking something directly
    from your Facebook homepage.
Experts in the field have taken this to
   heart, and a flood of new media
 content has hit Facebook. The more
interactive it is, the more interactions
 you get. That’s the rule. But how do
  you make your content attractive?
           Let’s take a look.
#1: The Perfect Time
Depending on your time zone and
 target market, this one is going to be
  tricky. Research indicates that most
   people are more active on special
occasions, and at certain times. Always
structure occasion based posts around
 special holidays, like Christmas (hint,
hint) Easter, Valentines Day, and so on.
Google is a great master of this
 particular trick. They take relevant,
   newsworthy days, like a famous
person’s birthday, and display it on the
         Google search page.
You could do the same on your
Facebook page. Attach an interesting
     niche related article to the
 announcement, or add a question.
 People love to find out new things,
and they’ll respond to these ‘fun-fact’
                posts.
Otherwise, keep an eye on your
analytics. Test different posting times
   and track which causes the best
 response from your fans. Then start
  posting at these times more often.
     Don’t forget – less is more!
#2 The Personal Touch
Have you heard? Nameless, faceless
brands are out – and personal, human
 based updates are in. When someone
    in your team posts a comment or
   question, get them to sign off with
their name. People like talking to other
  people, and your response rate will
     automatically rise. Do this often
 enough, and you’ll be in the newsfeed
       of all of your fans in no time.
Start adding personalized media to
  your Facebook page. Faceless video
  clips are great, but videos of you or
your team are better. Facebook wants
businesses to become more personal,
so take a leaf out of their book and do
   it! Try to add in as many personal
touches as you can to your posts. This
    is a great way to become a fully
 fledged member of your fans vibrant
         social life on Facebook.
As always, don’t forget that your page
can’t survive on copy alone – you need
   alternative media. Videos, images,
      presentations; these are the
 foundation of a great Facebook page.
