I have 3 years working experience in communications and advocacy departments of Non-
Governmental Organizations. I have a keen interest in the use of social media by organizations
to promote their brands. I also enjoy writing. When not working, I spend my time with kids at
the Hanne Howard Fund Lenana where I am a volunteer and mentor for children who were left
destitute following the 2007 post election violence.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
September 2012- Present: Communications and Advocacy Officer for Juatenda project, a 15
month media and environment project that calls on the public to know(jua) and act(tenda) on
pressing environmental issues. The project, run by Volunteers for Africa and Media
Development in Africa (MEDEVA) features synergy forums, training and mentorship of
journalists as well as a 13episode radio and TV show.
Achievements
Facilitated advocacy forums for youth, women and elders to advocate for proper care of
environment.
Organised barazas with chiefs and community elders in 8 counties across the country to
champion for their proactive engagement in ensuring environmental sustainability.
Facilitated training of over 200 fresh journalists across Kenya on environmental
reporting.
Prepared quarterly progress and field reports that were shared with donors.
Instrumental in conducting research for the first ever interactive environmental radio
and television show in Kenya
Helped to mobilize over 2000 youth on social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and
Youtube) to engage in environmental dialogues
Pioneered the organizations first ever newsletter (Juatenda Bulleting) detailing project
progress.
Among panelists on Africa Views radio show held on 9th June where the topic of “Role
of NGOs in enhancing sustainable solutions in the water sector” was discussed.

September 2012- Present: Volunteer at Hanne Howard Fund Lenana, a children’s home that
