ABSTRACT
TRISOP: A Return to the Path of Providence
Heeding Providence, inspired by a DREAM, and rooted in old time
American values.
This new business enterprise draws on individualism, exceptionalism, and
sacrifices forsaking unjust enrichment, has led to a restoration of hope and
a rekindling of the American Dream.
JC Supply & Manufacturing birthed by opportunity, tempered in adversity,
sustained by passion and committed to ingenuity for the common good.
With its essence of, Respect, Integrity, Synergy, and Enthusiasm, we will
RISE, optimizing the benefits of capitalism, balanced by the scales of social
justice, which has led to a restoration of trust.
It has experienced miraculous growth and prosperity in spite of a shat-
tered economy created by distribution of unmerited favor. Understanding
adversity is the doorway to the opportunity and returning to the values this
country was built upon, with its innate ability to once again transform our
communities and ultimately our nation.
The astounding success of the TRISOP business model demonstrates that
with a renewed endeavor focusing on contributions by the individual, team,
or community as the defining mission, knowing our ensuing prosperity is
implicit.
The Disadvantage Business Enterprise program continues to create the op-
portunity to implement the TRISOP project which is then funded by the
reinvestments of profits to its goals and ideals.
4
Here is what I know to be true: at the end of myself I searched and
heeding providence I found direction. I found leading at all levels:
from inside the church, from some who question the church, from nature
and from dreams and from that mysterious source that never sleeps, which
creates my dreams, and often makes me act in ways I do not comprehend.
I was led to take the name, JC for our company, and the name in itself is all
about individual choice, our life is all about our choices and the individual
connections we make that share the load.
Being led by providence our walk started with a DREAM realized through
opportunities encompassed in the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise pro-
gram. As we traveled down the road our DREAM grew. Today we Dream
of a new unlimited business enterprise By the People and For the People,
termed TRISOP.
We lived The TRISOP business model from 2009 through 2011 we experi-
enced triple digit growth in sales, jobs creation and prosperity. We created
new technologies and found ourselves taking the lead in production efficien-
cies as well as raising the bar on all levels of quality and performance.
I find no coincidence that our journey resulted in becoming a manufac-
turer of a product called load transfer. Load transfer in itself connects all
the pieces together to work in unison to carry the strains and stresses that
come against them. Is there any simpler name for what JC stands to do in
our lives if we so choose? Our company literally builds the component that
holds our country’s concrete infrastructure together, or in other words our
foundation. Is it possibly time for us to once again, as our fore fathers did
long ago, choose as a nation the foundational values this country is to be
built or rebuilt upon?
5
The stories that shaped JC are undeniable and phenomena possibly some
may only accept explainable as something along the lines of the critical mass
rule and or collective action.
The one thing I think we can all agree upon is that we as a country will
have to think outside of the box of anything we have ever known business
to be in order to restore good paying jobs and restore a healthy economy,
and it is going to take the commitment to the greater good, hard work and
brilliance of many to achieve.
Our road was not easy and was fraught with struggle, without the support
of financial institutions and fighting bureaucracy at every juncture. Out of
necessity we eliminated entitlements and restored equality while rekindling
trust. We found hope in realizing we only had the answer as a team work-
ing together pulling in the same direction. We found through our journey
rewarding justly and eliminating entitlements created pride and a sense of
purpose. We had to scratch and claw and fight to survive. It is definitely
not a journey for the faint of heart and in comparison in a small way remi-
niscent of our early days fighting for survival to become a free nation. It
was only by way of a divine inspiration and leadership that we were able
to overcome.
I believe we have in part an answer, and although in its infancy, I am con-
fident the visionaries of our great country will provide the brilliance needed
to perfect.
I truly believe there is A Light Before Us…The Road to Follow. And the one
thing I know for sure is; I HAVE A DREAM!!!
6
THE INITIAL LEADING
Having worked over two decades in the manufacturing sector, market
consolidation resulted in a merger of the two industry leaders. Hav-
ing worked for both these companies and at the core of this combined busi-
ness I discovered that my knowledge and expertise was perceived as a threat
to some and resulted in being ostracized as part of the team.
I found myself thrust into a company environment that I could not in good
conscience believe in nor support.
Searching for direction through the frustration of these events I started to
dream and began exploring all my options including the idea of starting my
own business.
On a Friday night at the close of the week by pursing the first foray of op-
portunity and sharing in the excitement of the meeting set for the following
week, my husband interjected “if an opportunity presents itself I have the
perfect name for the company, “JC ”.
My husband’s name happens to be Jerry and my immediate thought and re-
ply was “Well how about CJ Supply”! My obvious thought being his intent
of JC was to imply Jerry & Connie.
His response “well JC could stand for Jerry & Connie or Jesus Christ”, my
quick reply was “you win”! As I knew in my heart what my choice was.
Several years earlier I had come to the end of myself and learned through
the process to understand the power of prayer, discern truth and recognize
providence leading.
Two days later at church, the Pastor began with a baby dedication; the first
words out of his mouth was “JC, now how can anyone look at those initials
and not think of Jesus Christ”, WOW!
7
That statement sure caught my attention and I jotted “JC” at slant in the
upper left hand corner and continued taking notes throughout the service,
as was usual.
LATER at home I was excited to share my experience with my husband who
was not in attendance as is normal. I was inspired that possibly somehow an
opportunity to start my own company would present itself.
It would be seven months later when the actual opportunity to step out in
faith would present itself. Working through the merging of two companies
being the only one knowledgeable in the duplicity of product lines, my role
was crucial, yet the frustration mounted.
Recognizing my frustration my husband suggested I take a day off to spend
seeking guidance and shared he had prayed that I would find the Lord
through this and know without a doubt I was on HIS proper path. No
simpler prayer could have been lifted up and in my behalf and in itself was
a miracle to me as my husband had never before shared his faith in such
a manner. A persistent thought had led me to schedule a meeting just pre-
ceding my arranged day off. And to my astonishment the associate had a
preeminent knowing of why I was calling and the meeting started off with
his commitment to help me in anyway with office support and availability
to his product line. With no promise of a paycheck and at risk of my career
I grasped at the opportunity.
The following day was the day arranged to seek guidance, my place to re-
flect the beach. While getting ready to head out I had spotted my favorite
Bible under a stack of books in the closet that had been misplaced for many
months, I grabbed it and headed out.
Upon reaching my destination I said a quick prayer for HIS leading and
then opened my Bible miraculously to find the notes taken seven months
8
earlier staring me in the face with the initials JC jotted in the corner. At
that moment I knew this step of faith was to be my path, and upon further
investigation noticed the title of the sermon that day “Faith That Grows
Up”, wow, can the Lord speak any clearer I thought?
As I turned to the first reference of scripture in the notes three pictures hap-
pened to fall from my Bible I picked them up and I noticed they were dated
in the lower left hand corner and the date was exactly one year to the day
as I am sitting there on the beach seeking direction. One year prior through
another miracle, I had been given the opportunity to go to Israel and the
pictures were of me being baptized in the Jordan River, one standing, one
submerged and one after rising from the baptism. To me the pictures signi-
fied a new life and a new road to travel, at this point there was no doubt in
my mind of what I needed to do.
That same afternoon I turned in my resignation, I was excited as to my fu-
ture, knowing without a doubt an answer to prayer and a guiding for a soul
searching had been realized, and a new level of faith to be tested.
This was to be one of the many epiphanies that would shape our path and
continue to build our faith in a miraculous journey that no one could ever
begin to dream of. The incidences of miracles continued to bless our path.
The volumes of happenings line the pages of my journals waiting their time
to be told.
9
from predatory lending practices, in that their base earnings should be the
only consideration for credit worthiness and further education to promote
individual responsibility.
The second stage of the TRISOP business model is to have a provision for
retirement, to take a leadership role as a company in providing for their
future and with the ultimate end goal of a TRISOP being an ESOP, taking
the journey full circle all while promoting education, investing in research
and development, impacting our communities and social responsibilities.
This is the map of the future.
RETROSPECT
We’ve learned that getting outside of the box is where our ingenuity
comes from. Against all odds the attitude that carried us through
the challenges, opportunities and adversity was somehow someway WE
WILL!
The faith that carried us down the path as we continued to build in spite
of the shattered economy and the growth opportunity that resulted is sig-
nificant in the parity we can draw on for the much needed investment of
our infrastructure.
Critical to our success was contract provisions that mandate materials uti-
lized on infrastructure projects supported by our tax dollars must be made
in America. A mandate of the TRISOP business model must be an unwav-
ering commitment to made in America, as in the end the savings of today
will only cost us down the road as we have witnessed, with loss of jobs,
rising unemployment benefits, and deterioration of hope of achieving the
American Dream.
10
OUR HISTORY
May 7th, 1998, National Day of Prayer our official journey began;
standing on the steps of the local City Hall in prayer for my com-
munity, my leaders, and my country. At the close of the ceremonies I
headed to the local bank to open a business checking account “JC” Supply.
It was official, a new business started, birthed of the Disadvantage Business
Enterprise, a result of providences leading and a total commitment of faith
to the journey began.
Initially “JC’s” primary business platforms were distribution of paving ma-
terials; rebar splicing and building products for the precast segment of the
concrete construction markets.
Due to business enterprise programs specifically DBE/SBE/UDBE/WBE
coupled with the mandate of products of domestic origin contract require-
ment for infrastructure projects we were able to prosper in the transporta-
tion sector.
In 2006 “JC” received a major contract to supply load transfer dowels and
assemblies for the LAX Airbus Taxiway. Due to contact provisions “JC” was
asked for greater participation in order to fulfill the disadvantage business
goals.
Realizing the opportunity “JC” proposed their participation in the manu-
facturing process in a joint venture and in agreement with their supplier a
major manufacturer.
Six weeks prior to job start we were faced with supplying this high profile
project on our own. In the crisis of the moment we did not cave into the
deliberate efforts to keep us from being of more value to the job.
With a financial working line advance from the contract we began to build
11
equipment and secure raw materials which exceeded 4 million pounds of
steel. The project was completed on time and within budget. Although not
in our plans we were now a competitor to our supplier in the airport seg-
ment of the concrete paving market.
With potentially 90% of our market being in the highway sector we realized
our future depended upon being self-sufficient in all segments of manufac-
turing which required major financial investment and a major move to a
facility able to support our manufacturing growth.
Today on 9.3 acres with 130,000 square feet of manufacturing under roof,
our commitment to excellence drives everyone at JC Supply & Manufactur-
ing to deliver our best performance daily. Our manufacturing process is
designed for ultimate quality and flexibility; we continue to raise the bar as a
certified epoxy coater by developing new processes such as micro encapsula-
tion which has dramatically improved performance of load transfer devises.
We are driven by our dream vision for the consideration of a new unlim-
ited business enterprise “BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE” as
we literally participate in the building of the very foundation of this great
country.
We believe there is a “LIGHT BEFORE US and THE ROAD TO FOL-
LOW.” I Have A Dream...
12
THE DREAM
Inspired by a DREAM and an undeniable leading of something much big-
ger than I was even able to comprehend let alone understand yet validat-
ed only by the truth of knowing He uses the simple to confound the wise.
The vision of this dream company began to develop in 2006, when disparity
studies were underway to determine the effectiveness of the Disadvantage
Business Enterprise Program. Realizing that these programs were created
so all have an opportunity to prosper, my dream began to enlarge. I found
in some cases the DBE Program was a mandate that many learned how to
manage the system and its participants, and limited growth of jobs were
realized. I believed at the heart of the DBE program is the desire to spread
economic opportunity for ALL, and that is where a new dream began… a
company By the People and for the People, a new business enterprise was
born a TRISOP.
The basic formula to the TRISOP business enterprise is:
30% of profits to employees as equal as they choose to show up
30% of profits to R&D, pavement design, technology and industry promo-
tion 30% of profits to the shareholders
10% of profits to the less fortunate

13
The TRISOP name was derived from ESOP, the TRI adopted due to its
three equal components, with the major exception in structure being the
pay out of profits and taxation being now not upon retirement encouraging
utilization now which is greatly needed to remedy our ailing economy.
The balanced reinvestment of profits in research and development, pave-
ment design, new technology, and industry promotion are an effort to turn
the tide on the business models that have been created through the last two
decades where cash is king and the focus on bottom line today without a
long term commitment to investment. Additionally envisioning our custom-
ers would come along side and help us to build jobs of mutual concern
insuring we are always on the leading edge of changes to our marketplace
maintaining job security, and all while meeting their contract goals for Dis-
advantage Business Enterprises.
I believe the proven successful TRISOP business model should be consid-
ered as a tax free entity as is an ESOP, encouraging investors to create the
jobs that will have immediate impact on our economy, encourage long-term
investment and promote equality on all levels from shareholder, to employ-
ees to reinvestment in our country, a true win, win, win business model.
Additionally the business model must commit to American goods and ser-
vices without exception.
This business enterprise system provided us and our employees with the
opportunity to live the dream. The initial dream impacted our walk, and
then the dream grew and a new dream was born, and who can say just what
impact a dream can have on our reality to make a difference!
14
THE RESULTS
We lived The TRISOP business model from 2009 through 2011 we
experienced triple digit growth in sales, jobs creation and profits.
We created new technologies and found ourselves taking the lead in pro-
duction efficiencies as well as raising the bar on all levels of quality and
performance.
2008 proved challenging when banks pulled their support, and as a means
of survival we were forced to go back to basics, eliminating all entitlements
such as sick leave, vacation pay and holiday pay were all taken of the
table. Show up, work hard, and by the grace of God; somehow we made it
through.
As we grew healthy we recognized people no longer missed work due to
sickness, and then realized with abounding profits people would be able to
provide for their own sick leave and vacation pay through their portion of
earned profits. Show up work hard and get paid, a novel idea. Elimination
of entitlements through the TRISOP business model resulted in a balance

of the risk and reward for both employees and employer.
Our end goal is acceptance and creation of a new unlimited tax free busi-
ness enterprise that yields the perfect blend of capitalism and social justice
recognizing equality in our individual strengths and the value associated to
the team… a fulfillment of THE DREAM of economic opportunity for ALL!
The only measure is the strength of character and showing up big with
your abilities, whether you are blessed to be the best darn Janitor or the
President, validating honor in all.
In our country’s proven capitalistic history it is well known industry drives
salary and to get the good talent on the team competitive salaries are re-
quired, but at the end of the day it is the team that will drive bottom line
and that bottom line should be shared equally with all its parts as long as
all are willing to show up equally with their unbridled talents and abilities.
Within this formula we have realized success beyond conceivable measure,
with all parties pulling in the same direction with opportunity for equal
reward and an unwavering commitment to community. The stories that
shaped us are undeniable and the results speak for themselves.
THE FUTURE & THE IMPACT
Getting monies into the hands of people that will spend them will be
the first stage impact to our recovery, the bottom up approach works.
The initial impact is getting money into the hands of the people that will
spend injecting dollars into our economic system. Monies earned with sense
of purpose and pride, not unmerited. In realizing, no matter how much edu-
cation, some people tend to spend every penny they get, which is in a sense
good for our economy. We do however need to protect these individuals
16
With a renewed commitment to the foundational values, elimination of un-
merited entitlements and a continued investment in our roadways, highway,
shipyards, railways we will be prepared for the ensuing growth opportunity
that will once again presents itself and we will have the infrastructure in
place to move the goods and seize the opportunities and restore America to
its greatness. It is America’s time to step out in faith and recommit to the
ideals that shaped us as a nation and restore her to greatness.
I realize how unorthodox we appear by the worlds standards but I also
know if this vision were applied to the open markets ALL Americans would
buy in because it promotes business investment, promotes hard work, shares
the wealth across the board and will result in contractors coming along side
of DBE companies working together to be a viable part of the economy.
I am truly in awe of what this team has accomplished. The Lord has blessed
us with individuals of many colors, talents, peculiarities and demeanors that
have come together under one banner.
I truly believe our path has been blessed because of our continued com-
mitment to the DREAM…A company By the People… and For the People.
Where we show up with the best of the attributes we have been blessed
with, and we share as equally as we show up in the results of the culmina-
tion of our abilities.
None of us are perfect, yet each of us is striving to give our best leaving no
one behind and moving forward together with a renewed commitment to
our Core Values:
Respect / Integrity / Synergy / Enthusiasm RISE!!! We WILL rise to the
opportunity together. The one thing I know for sure is I HAVE A DREAM
…it’s my mission.
17
The rest is up to ALL … As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “we have dif-
ficult days ahead of us but WE WILL get to the promise land.’
In honor of all those that have gone before us, I ask myself “Have I Given
My All?” Knowing HE gave HIS all I personally find these words haunting,
as I reflect on a given minute, hour, day, week or month and sincerely ask
myself the question, I realize I have more to give.
I hope each of us takes the time to sit quietly and ask yourself the same
question “Have I Given My All,” not only to efforts at work but at home
with your children, spouses, family, friends, community and to this great
country.
The Challenge Continues…There is a Light Before Us… the Road To Follow
It is our time to lead!

  • 1. 1 A Return to The Path of Providence by Connie Lightcap, JC Supply & Manufacturing published by the National Transportation Research Board February 29, 2012 copyright TX 7-584-449 TRISOP:
  • 2. 2
  • 3. 3 ABSTRACT TRISOP: A Return to the Path of Providence Heeding Providence, inspired by a DREAM, and rooted in old time American values. This new business enterprise draws on individualism, exceptionalism, and sacrifices forsaking unjust enrichment, has led to a restoration of hope and a rekindling of the American Dream. JC Supply & Manufacturing birthed by opportunity, tempered in adversity, sustained by passion and committed to ingenuity for the common good. With its essence of, Respect, Integrity, Synergy, and Enthusiasm, we will RISE, optimizing the benefits of capitalism, balanced by the scales of social justice, which has led to a restoration of trust. It has experienced miraculous growth and prosperity in spite of a shat- tered economy created by distribution of unmerited favor. Understanding adversity is the doorway to the opportunity and returning to the values this country was built upon, with its innate ability to once again transform our communities and ultimately our nation. The astounding success of the TRISOP business model demonstrates that with a renewed endeavor focusing on contributions by the individual, team, or community as the defining mission, knowing our ensuing prosperity is implicit. The Disadvantage Business Enterprise program continues to create the op- portunity to implement the TRISOP project which is then funded by the reinvestments of profits to its goals and ideals.
  • 4. 4 Here is what I know to be true: at the end of myself I searched and heeding providence I found direction. I found leading at all levels: from inside the church, from some who question the church, from nature and from dreams and from that mysterious source that never sleeps, which creates my dreams, and often makes me act in ways I do not comprehend. I was led to take the name, JC for our company, and the name in itself is all about individual choice, our life is all about our choices and the individual connections we make that share the load. Being led by providence our walk started with a DREAM realized through opportunities encompassed in the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise pro- gram. As we traveled down the road our DREAM grew. Today we Dream of a new unlimited business enterprise By the People and For the People, termed TRISOP. We lived The TRISOP business model from 2009 through 2011 we experi- enced triple digit growth in sales, jobs creation and prosperity. We created new technologies and found ourselves taking the lead in production efficien- cies as well as raising the bar on all levels of quality and performance. I find no coincidence that our journey resulted in becoming a manufac- turer of a product called load transfer. Load transfer in itself connects all the pieces together to work in unison to carry the strains and stresses that come against them. Is there any simpler name for what JC stands to do in our lives if we so choose? Our company literally builds the component that holds our country’s concrete infrastructure together, or in other words our foundation. Is it possibly time for us to once again, as our fore fathers did long ago, choose as a nation the foundational values this country is to be built or rebuilt upon?
  • 5. 5 The stories that shaped JC are undeniable and phenomena possibly some may only accept explainable as something along the lines of the critical mass rule and or collective action. The one thing I think we can all agree upon is that we as a country will have to think outside of the box of anything we have ever known business to be in order to restore good paying jobs and restore a healthy economy, and it is going to take the commitment to the greater good, hard work and brilliance of many to achieve. Our road was not easy and was fraught with struggle, without the support of financial institutions and fighting bureaucracy at every juncture. Out of necessity we eliminated entitlements and restored equality while rekindling trust. We found hope in realizing we only had the answer as a team work- ing together pulling in the same direction. We found through our journey rewarding justly and eliminating entitlements created pride and a sense of purpose. We had to scratch and claw and fight to survive. It is definitely not a journey for the faint of heart and in comparison in a small way remi- niscent of our early days fighting for survival to become a free nation. It was only by way of a divine inspiration and leadership that we were able to overcome. I believe we have in part an answer, and although in its infancy, I am con- fident the visionaries of our great country will provide the brilliance needed to perfect. I truly believe there is A Light Before Us…The Road to Follow. And the one thing I know for sure is; I HAVE A DREAM!!!
  • 6. 6 THE INITIAL LEADING Having worked over two decades in the manufacturing sector, market consolidation resulted in a merger of the two industry leaders. Hav- ing worked for both these companies and at the core of this combined busi- ness I discovered that my knowledge and expertise was perceived as a threat to some and resulted in being ostracized as part of the team. I found myself thrust into a company environment that I could not in good conscience believe in nor support. Searching for direction through the frustration of these events I started to dream and began exploring all my options including the idea of starting my own business. On a Friday night at the close of the week by pursing the first foray of op- portunity and sharing in the excitement of the meeting set for the following week, my husband interjected “if an opportunity presents itself I have the perfect name for the company, “JC ”. My husband’s name happens to be Jerry and my immediate thought and re- ply was “Well how about CJ Supply”! My obvious thought being his intent of JC was to imply Jerry & Connie. His response “well JC could stand for Jerry & Connie or Jesus Christ”, my quick reply was “you win”! As I knew in my heart what my choice was. Several years earlier I had come to the end of myself and learned through the process to understand the power of prayer, discern truth and recognize providence leading. Two days later at church, the Pastor began with a baby dedication; the first words out of his mouth was “JC, now how can anyone look at those initials and not think of Jesus Christ”, WOW!
  • 7. 7 That statement sure caught my attention and I jotted “JC” at slant in the upper left hand corner and continued taking notes throughout the service, as was usual. LATER at home I was excited to share my experience with my husband who was not in attendance as is normal. I was inspired that possibly somehow an opportunity to start my own company would present itself. It would be seven months later when the actual opportunity to step out in faith would present itself. Working through the merging of two companies being the only one knowledgeable in the duplicity of product lines, my role was crucial, yet the frustration mounted. Recognizing my frustration my husband suggested I take a day off to spend seeking guidance and shared he had prayed that I would find the Lord through this and know without a doubt I was on HIS proper path. No simpler prayer could have been lifted up and in my behalf and in itself was a miracle to me as my husband had never before shared his faith in such a manner. A persistent thought had led me to schedule a meeting just pre- ceding my arranged day off. And to my astonishment the associate had a preeminent knowing of why I was calling and the meeting started off with his commitment to help me in anyway with office support and availability to his product line. With no promise of a paycheck and at risk of my career I grasped at the opportunity. The following day was the day arranged to seek guidance, my place to re- flect the beach. While getting ready to head out I had spotted my favorite Bible under a stack of books in the closet that had been misplaced for many months, I grabbed it and headed out. Upon reaching my destination I said a quick prayer for HIS leading and then opened my Bible miraculously to find the notes taken seven months
  • 8. 8 earlier staring me in the face with the initials JC jotted in the corner. At that moment I knew this step of faith was to be my path, and upon further investigation noticed the title of the sermon that day “Faith That Grows Up”, wow, can the Lord speak any clearer I thought? As I turned to the first reference of scripture in the notes three pictures hap- pened to fall from my Bible I picked them up and I noticed they were dated in the lower left hand corner and the date was exactly one year to the day as I am sitting there on the beach seeking direction. One year prior through another miracle, I had been given the opportunity to go to Israel and the pictures were of me being baptized in the Jordan River, one standing, one submerged and one after rising from the baptism. To me the pictures signi- fied a new life and a new road to travel, at this point there was no doubt in my mind of what I needed to do. That same afternoon I turned in my resignation, I was excited as to my fu- ture, knowing without a doubt an answer to prayer and a guiding for a soul searching had been realized, and a new level of faith to be tested. This was to be one of the many epiphanies that would shape our path and continue to build our faith in a miraculous journey that no one could ever begin to dream of. The incidences of miracles continued to bless our path. The volumes of happenings line the pages of my journals waiting their time to be told.
  • 9. 9 from predatory lending practices, in that their base earnings should be the only consideration for credit worthiness and further education to promote individual responsibility. The second stage of the TRISOP business model is to have a provision for retirement, to take a leadership role as a company in providing for their future and with the ultimate end goal of a TRISOP being an ESOP, taking the journey full circle all while promoting education, investing in research and development, impacting our communities and social responsibilities. This is the map of the future. RETROSPECT We’ve learned that getting outside of the box is where our ingenuity comes from. Against all odds the attitude that carried us through the challenges, opportunities and adversity was somehow someway WE WILL! The faith that carried us down the path as we continued to build in spite of the shattered economy and the growth opportunity that resulted is sig- nificant in the parity we can draw on for the much needed investment of our infrastructure. Critical to our success was contract provisions that mandate materials uti- lized on infrastructure projects supported by our tax dollars must be made in America. A mandate of the TRISOP business model must be an unwav- ering commitment to made in America, as in the end the savings of today will only cost us down the road as we have witnessed, with loss of jobs, rising unemployment benefits, and deterioration of hope of achieving the American Dream.
  • 10. 10 OUR HISTORY May 7th, 1998, National Day of Prayer our official journey began; standing on the steps of the local City Hall in prayer for my com- munity, my leaders, and my country. At the close of the ceremonies I headed to the local bank to open a business checking account “JC” Supply. It was official, a new business started, birthed of the Disadvantage Business Enterprise, a result of providences leading and a total commitment of faith to the journey began. Initially “JC’s” primary business platforms were distribution of paving ma- terials; rebar splicing and building products for the precast segment of the concrete construction markets. Due to business enterprise programs specifically DBE/SBE/UDBE/WBE coupled with the mandate of products of domestic origin contract require- ment for infrastructure projects we were able to prosper in the transporta- tion sector. In 2006 “JC” received a major contract to supply load transfer dowels and assemblies for the LAX Airbus Taxiway. Due to contact provisions “JC” was asked for greater participation in order to fulfill the disadvantage business goals. Realizing the opportunity “JC” proposed their participation in the manu- facturing process in a joint venture and in agreement with their supplier a major manufacturer. Six weeks prior to job start we were faced with supplying this high profile project on our own. In the crisis of the moment we did not cave into the deliberate efforts to keep us from being of more value to the job. With a financial working line advance from the contract we began to build
  • 11. 11 equipment and secure raw materials which exceeded 4 million pounds of steel. The project was completed on time and within budget. Although not in our plans we were now a competitor to our supplier in the airport seg- ment of the concrete paving market. With potentially 90% of our market being in the highway sector we realized our future depended upon being self-sufficient in all segments of manufac- turing which required major financial investment and a major move to a facility able to support our manufacturing growth. Today on 9.3 acres with 130,000 square feet of manufacturing under roof, our commitment to excellence drives everyone at JC Supply & Manufactur- ing to deliver our best performance daily. Our manufacturing process is designed for ultimate quality and flexibility; we continue to raise the bar as a certified epoxy coater by developing new processes such as micro encapsula- tion which has dramatically improved performance of load transfer devises. We are driven by our dream vision for the consideration of a new unlim- ited business enterprise “BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE” as we literally participate in the building of the very foundation of this great country. We believe there is a “LIGHT BEFORE US and THE ROAD TO FOL- LOW.” I Have A Dream...
  • 12. 12 THE DREAM Inspired by a DREAM and an undeniable leading of something much big- ger than I was even able to comprehend let alone understand yet validat- ed only by the truth of knowing He uses the simple to confound the wise. The vision of this dream company began to develop in 2006, when disparity studies were underway to determine the effectiveness of the Disadvantage Business Enterprise Program. Realizing that these programs were created so all have an opportunity to prosper, my dream began to enlarge. I found in some cases the DBE Program was a mandate that many learned how to manage the system and its participants, and limited growth of jobs were realized. I believed at the heart of the DBE program is the desire to spread economic opportunity for ALL, and that is where a new dream began… a company By the People and for the People, a new business enterprise was born a TRISOP. The basic formula to the TRISOP business enterprise is: 30% of profits to employees as equal as they choose to show up 30% of profits to R&D, pavement design, technology and industry promo- tion 30% of profits to the shareholders 10% of profits to the less fortunate 30% 10% 30% 30% Employees Non- Profits Product Design & Industry Promotion Shareholders The TRISOP Profit Structure
  • 13. 13 The TRISOP name was derived from ESOP, the TRI adopted due to its three equal components, with the major exception in structure being the pay out of profits and taxation being now not upon retirement encouraging utilization now which is greatly needed to remedy our ailing economy. The balanced reinvestment of profits in research and development, pave- ment design, new technology, and industry promotion are an effort to turn the tide on the business models that have been created through the last two decades where cash is king and the focus on bottom line today without a long term commitment to investment. Additionally envisioning our custom- ers would come along side and help us to build jobs of mutual concern insuring we are always on the leading edge of changes to our marketplace maintaining job security, and all while meeting their contract goals for Dis- advantage Business Enterprises. I believe the proven successful TRISOP business model should be consid- ered as a tax free entity as is an ESOP, encouraging investors to create the jobs that will have immediate impact on our economy, encourage long-term investment and promote equality on all levels from shareholder, to employ- ees to reinvestment in our country, a true win, win, win business model. Additionally the business model must commit to American goods and ser- vices without exception. This business enterprise system provided us and our employees with the opportunity to live the dream. The initial dream impacted our walk, and then the dream grew and a new dream was born, and who can say just what impact a dream can have on our reality to make a difference!
  • 14. 14 THE RESULTS We lived The TRISOP business model from 2009 through 2011 we experienced triple digit growth in sales, jobs creation and profits. We created new technologies and found ourselves taking the lead in pro- duction efficiencies as well as raising the bar on all levels of quality and performance. 2008 proved challenging when banks pulled their support, and as a means of survival we were forced to go back to basics, eliminating all entitlements such as sick leave, vacation pay and holiday pay were all taken of the table. Show up, work hard, and by the grace of God; somehow we made it through. As we grew healthy we recognized people no longer missed work due to sickness, and then realized with abounding profits people would be able to provide for their own sick leave and vacation pay through their portion of earned profits. Show up work hard and get paid, a novel idea. Elimination of entitlements through the TRISOP business model resulted in a balance 0 50 100 150 200 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 projected 2016 projected Workers Employed
  • 15. 15 of the risk and reward for both employees and employer. Our end goal is acceptance and creation of a new unlimited tax free busi- ness enterprise that yields the perfect blend of capitalism and social justice recognizing equality in our individual strengths and the value associated to the team… a fulfillment of THE DREAM of economic opportunity for ALL! The only measure is the strength of character and showing up big with your abilities, whether you are blessed to be the best darn Janitor or the President, validating honor in all. In our country’s proven capitalistic history it is well known industry drives salary and to get the good talent on the team competitive salaries are re- quired, but at the end of the day it is the team that will drive bottom line and that bottom line should be shared equally with all its parts as long as all are willing to show up equally with their unbridled talents and abilities. Within this formula we have realized success beyond conceivable measure, with all parties pulling in the same direction with opportunity for equal reward and an unwavering commitment to community. The stories that shaped us are undeniable and the results speak for themselves. THE FUTURE & THE IMPACT Getting monies into the hands of people that will spend them will be the first stage impact to our recovery, the bottom up approach works. The initial impact is getting money into the hands of the people that will spend injecting dollars into our economic system. Monies earned with sense of purpose and pride, not unmerited. In realizing, no matter how much edu- cation, some people tend to spend every penny they get, which is in a sense good for our economy. We do however need to protect these individuals
  • 16. 16 With a renewed commitment to the foundational values, elimination of un- merited entitlements and a continued investment in our roadways, highway, shipyards, railways we will be prepared for the ensuing growth opportunity that will once again presents itself and we will have the infrastructure in place to move the goods and seize the opportunities and restore America to its greatness. It is America’s time to step out in faith and recommit to the ideals that shaped us as a nation and restore her to greatness. I realize how unorthodox we appear by the worlds standards but I also know if this vision were applied to the open markets ALL Americans would buy in because it promotes business investment, promotes hard work, shares the wealth across the board and will result in contractors coming along side of DBE companies working together to be a viable part of the economy. I am truly in awe of what this team has accomplished. The Lord has blessed us with individuals of many colors, talents, peculiarities and demeanors that have come together under one banner. I truly believe our path has been blessed because of our continued com- mitment to the DREAM…A company By the People… and For the People. Where we show up with the best of the attributes we have been blessed with, and we share as equally as we show up in the results of the culmina- tion of our abilities. None of us are perfect, yet each of us is striving to give our best leaving no one behind and moving forward together with a renewed commitment to our Core Values: Respect / Integrity / Synergy / Enthusiasm RISE!!! We WILL rise to the opportunity together. The one thing I know for sure is I HAVE A DREAM …it’s my mission.
  • 17. 17 The rest is up to ALL … As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “we have dif- ficult days ahead of us but WE WILL get to the promise land.’ In honor of all those that have gone before us, I ask myself “Have I Given My All?” Knowing HE gave HIS all I personally find these words haunting, as I reflect on a given minute, hour, day, week or month and sincerely ask myself the question, I realize I have more to give. I hope each of us takes the time to sit quietly and ask yourself the same question “Have I Given My All,” not only to efforts at work but at home with your children, spouses, family, friends, community and to this great country. The Challenge Continues…There is a Light Before Us… the Road To Follow It is our time to lead!

Her innovative business model has proven quite effective and serves as an example to others in her industry." - Adalberto Quijada, SBA District Director JC Supply & Manufacturing 1612 S Cucamonga Avenue, Ontario, CA 91761 (909) 373-1773 connie@jcsupply.us
